Sofia Richie's Mother Dishes on How She Feels About Her Daughter's Relationship with Scott Disick

Sofia Richie and Scott Disick began dating in 2017 after months of swirling rumors that the two were romantically involved with each other. Prior to that, Disick had been dating Kourtney Kardashian for several years and had three children.

After their tumultuous breakup, very few thought Disick would right into another relationship. Long story short, he did. With Richie and Disick working through a 15-year age gap, many have wondered what the model's parents think about her boyfriend and their large age difference.

When the two began to date, Kardashian wasn't too pleased that her ex-boyfriend and the father of their children was in a relationship with someone 15 years younger than him. Richie's father, Lionel, also wasn't completely on board with the idea, but figured it was just a phase for his daughter.

"She’s 19. When you’re 19 you know everything. Is it going to be for life? I don’t know," the music legend told Australia's Daily Telegraph back in 2017. "But for right now it’s just a phase and I’m going to stand real still in the corner, get me a good drink and not make too much noise."

After a while, Richie's relationship with Disick began to grow on him, especially because he saw that his daughter was happy. In 2019, a source close to Lionel, spoke to E! News where they revealed that his daughter's relationship was beginning to gain his seal of approval.

"Lionel has accepted their relationship but still isn’t entirely 100 percent on board with Scott mostly because of the age difference and how young Sofia is," the source told the outlet. "Lionel can see how happy Sofia is though so he is definitely making more of an effort with Scott."

As for Richie's mother, Diane Alexander? She's accepted her daughter's relationship and has even gushed over Disick, as she did in a recent interview. Alexander sat down with Heat Magazine where she expressed that she couldn't be happier for her daughter and Disick.

She explained that she thought the 'Flip It Like Disick' star was 'really good guy' and said that she loved him. "I love him!" she told Heat Magazine. "And he’s such a good dad, I don’t know if people really know that. He’s at home with them every night – homework, bedtime."

Alexander went on to praise her daughter for being independent and explaining that she trusted her daughter's intuition, especially when it comes to relationships. "She’s really wise and she doesn’t do anything wrong relationship-wise – she knows right from wrong," Alexander said. "Sofia means wisdom. I learn a lot from her… She’s so independent, taking care of herself. I’m proud of her."

Although the age gap between the two takes some getting used to, Alexander says she doesn't mind it. "It’s very well-adjusted in my eyes, all of it," she concluded. "Everyone seems in a healthy place."
