The Unlikely Love Story Of Tilly G Tortoise And A Pup Named Skippy

The love between a sulcata tortoise and a Chihuahua mix pup can't be stopped, (but why would you want to stop that level of cuteness?)

Tilly G the tortoise and Skippy the pup are growing up together and loving every minute of it. Their fun adventures are highlighted on Tilly G's TikTok page, and a recently posted video tells the love story of the tortoise and his bestie.

"You're not gonna believe this but I have to tell you because it is true, my tortoise Tilly G and my puppy named Skippy are completely in love. They're best friends and every day Skippy loves to bring him his favorite toy of the day. He also loves to bring him little pieces of food," Tilly G and Skippy's owner explains in the video. "He likes to give him kisses and Tilly G doesn't tuck into his shell."

Followers of the adorable duo took to the comment section to express their love for this unlikely couple. One follower wrote, "I love these two! They make no sense and it's perfect ??." Another added, "Awww what a sweet friendship! Such beautiful creatures." And another replied, "I always wonder what animals think of each other ? like they just accept whatever creature they befriend lol." Many others added comments of love for the duo and their love story with one person suggesting, "THIS NEEDS TO BE A CHILDRENS BOOK NOWWWWWWWW."

Tilly's first TikTok video was posted in early 2020, and many more videos have followed. The love story between the two unlikely besties has also grown over the past few years. Their daily adventures include the two wearing adorable hats, enjoying a snack together, running around the yard and even napping side-by-side. In one video, the two buddies decided it was time to rearrange the backyard a bit.

Their love story began when Skippy was just 10-weeks old. "He was a curious puppy but he was so in love with Tilly G. It was love at first sight" their owner said in one video about the two friends. "Tilly G was also very curious about Skippy." While the tortoise had lived with other dogs, he never met a puppy before Skippy came along. "He was intrigued. He was very curious about Skippy," their human said. "And soon, little Skippy started giving Tilly G kisses and Tilly G kind of liked it." Their amazing love story only grew from there.

Tilly G has his own website that explains how he got to where he is now. "Tilly G's living the good life! But, his life wasn't always so awesome. He had a very tough beginning to his life. He was found by the Humane Society with a cracked shell, respiratory infection, and was underweight. He was in bad shape," the website reads. "But then, the talented vets at the Humane Society fixed Tilly G's cracked shell and cured his respiratory infection. Then two lucky, loving hoomans adopted Tilly G and gave him a wonderful forever home! Now he's living the good life, with a large house and yard to roam, plenty of delicious food, furry friends, and of course, lots and lots of unconditional love."

At one point, there was also a podcast called "Tilly G The Tortoise & The Floof-Gang," but the last episode posted was in early 2022.  And while many of Tilly G and Skippy's fans comment that there should be a Disney movie about the two, Disney Now posted one of their videos back in 2021.
