Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have been doing their best to stay safe during quarantine, especially because Perry is with-child. But,
just because there’s a pandemic happening doesn’t mean that there can’t be good news.
Perry, who had been revealed to be expecting a child, just took to Instagram and revealed the sex of her baby along with a picture with her soon to be husband Bloom. The singer made it plain and simple by posting a caption:
“It’s a girl,” Perry said.
The couple first announced they were expecting their a child together back in March when Perry epically revealed her baby bump in her music video for her single “Never Worn White.”
During the video, Perry wore a white gown fit for a bride along with a bouquet of flowers while singing a love song to Bloom. She than placed her hands on her stomach and sang, “See us in 60 years with a full family tree (I do).”
After the reveal, Perry confirmed on her Instagram Live that she’s going to have a “jam packed summer” because she will be “giving birth…literally” to both a child and a new album.
She also took to her Twitter and added, “omg so glad I don’t have to suck it in anymore.”
Perry said in an interview with Sirius XM last month and talked about how she’s been feeling about the pregnancy:
“Well, it wasn’t on accident,” Perry said. “I’m so grateful for everything that I have been able to do and achieve and all the goals that I’ve been able to kind of check off my list and dreams, and the life I’ve lived thus far, and I think I’ve just been trying to create this space in my own life where I’m not running myself too ragged and like… creating space for something new to happen like this,” she said.
Also after the announcement a source told PEOPLE that the couple couldn’t be happier:
“They are both so excited about having a baby. They are also ecstatic that it’s a girl,” the source said. “They love that they have this amazing, positive thing to focus on right now. It’s such a happy distraction for them.”
The source also addressed the fact that Perry could be feeling a bit anxious as the world is going through the pandemic, but says that the singer is doing well:
“Along with so many other people, they stay home. They both try to exercise and eat well so they can stay healthy,” the source said. “Katy really hopes everything has calmed down with the virus by the time the baby will be born this summer.”
Also, Perry and Bloom are not only staying safe and supporting each other during the pandemic, but the soon to be married couple is also hoping to find ways to help those in need in whatever ways they can:
“Both have always been involved in charity work, and with the virus outbreak, they have donated money to several causes. They are both very low-key about it and don’t want any attention,” the source said. “Everyone just knows that they are a very generous couple.”
