Taylor Swift Dishes On Her Relationship With Joe Alwyn In 'Midnights'

Singer Taylor Swift has finally dropped her tenth studio album, "Midnights," and Swifties haven't gotten a lot of sleep listening to her latest tracks!

Along with collaborating with some of the biggest artists in the industry, it looks like Taylor continued to work with William Bowery, which is the pseudonym of her boyfriend of six years, Joe Alwyn.

"Bowery" was credited with several tracks on her last studio album, "evermore," and fans were hoping that the two would collaborate again, especially as Taylor addresses rumors that the two are engaged in her new album.

The "Love Story" singer opened up about her own love story in her new album, "Midnights." Earlier this year, it was rumored that Taylor, 32, was engaged to the "Conversations with Friends" actor, 31, although neither had confirmed or denied that they had taken their relationship to the next level.

Before the track "Lavender Haze" dropped, the "You Belong With Me" singer revealed that she had first learned the phrase from the show "Mad Men" in a brief Instagram video.

“It turns out that it was a common phrase that was used in the ’50s, where they would just describe being in love,” she explained, adding that “Lavender Haze” meant that someone was experiencing “that all-encompassing love glow,” which she called “really beautiful.”

“I guess, theoretically, when you’re in the ‘Lavender Haze,’ you’ll do anything to stay there and not let people bring you down off of that cloud,” she added, referencing her own relationship with Alwyn.

In the track, Taylor sings, "I've been under scrutiny / You handle it beautifully" in the first verse. In the chorus, she sings, “I’m d---ed if I do give a d--- what people say/ the 1950s s--- they want from me/ I just wanna stay in that lavender haze.”

“All they keep asking me is if I’m gonna be your bride/ the only kinda girl they see is a one night or a wife,” she continues. "I find it dizzying / They're bringing up my history / But you weren't even listening."

William Bowery, the British actor's pseudonym, has a songwriting credit on the already-popular ballad titled, "Sweet Nothing."

In the song, Taylor sings, “They said the end is coming/ Everyone’s up to something/ I find myself running home to your sweet nothings.”

She also seems to reference the time they spent in Ireland last year while he was filming the Hulu series "Conversations with Friends."

In the song, Taylor sings, “I spy with my little tired eye/ Tiny as a firefly a pebble that we picked up last July/ Down deep inside your pocket we almost forgot it/ Does it ever miss Wicklow sometimes?”

In an interview for WSJ. Magazine's May issue, the “Boy Erased” actor joked, “If I had a pound for every time I think I've been told I've been engaged, then I'd have a lot of pound coins.”

He added that he “wouldn’t say” if he was really engaged to the “Gorgeous” singer or not, adding, “I mean, the truth is, if the answer was yes, I wouldn't say, and if the answer was no, I wouldn't say.”

“If you give it to them, it just opens the door,” he added.

Earlier this summer, The Sun reported that the couple has “only told” their inner circle about their engagement, which means that only immediate family members and “trusted, very old friends” know that Taylor and Joe are engaged, at least according to the insider.

“Everyone has been sworn to secrecy, too,” the source added, noting that the “You Are In Love” singer only wears her “beautiful ring” in private.

“Again, only a handful of people know details about the wedding and Taylor hasn’t even told some of her team about the engagement,” the source alleged.

“They want their love to stay away from the cameras as much as possible. This is just for them. And if and when they do exchange vows, there most definitely won’t be any Vogue, Rolling Stone, or Hello! magazines there,” the insider added. “It will be simple and elegant – like them.”
