Simone Biles Sends Out Warning To People Planning On Dressing Up As Jeffrey Dahmer For Halloween: 'We Ain't Having It!'

Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles slammed people with plans to dress like convicted serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. He was arrested in the early 1990s for kidnapping and killing mostly marginalized groups like people of color and members of the LGBTQ.

Dahmer was convicted in 1992 and given a life sentence; however, he was beaten to death in 1994. The convict recently became a household name after Netflix released a biography of him called "Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story."

The Ryan Murphy drama was released last month and rose in popularity despite the opposition from the families of Dahmer's victims.

Biles took to Twitter on Wednesday and called out everyone who had plans to dress up as convicted serial killer and cannibal Dahmer. After Murphy's true crime drama was released, there was a viral craze concerning the serial killer's life from the public.

"Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story" is currently the most viewed series on Netflix, second only to "Stranger Things 4." It is also currently the second most popular English-speaking show on the streaming platform in history. As such, it is no surprise that Dahmer's get-up may be seen worn by several people for Halloween.

Biles, however, spoke the mind of many when she took to social media to ask that they disposed of the costumes. "im just gon go head and say it, put the jeffrey dahmer costumes back in the closet. We ain't having it!!!!!!" she wrote.

Biles is not the only one against Jeffrey Dahmer-inspired costumes for Halloween. Shirley, the mother of Tony Hughes, one of the serial killer's victims, also expressed her disgust. Hughes was a 17 years old deaf and nonvocal victim of Dahmer, and according to his mother, seeing the Netflix series was already triggering enough for her.

While talking to TMZ, Shirley revealed that it hurt to watch Netflix, as well as online stores like Amazon and eBay, profit off her son's murder. She claimed the victim's families were not compensated despite being taken advantage of.

According to Shirley, the ads placed on eBay should be taken down, or at the very least, the profits should be given to the affected families. She also blamed Netflix for producing the show, leading to the triggering costumes of Dahmer, which will likely be rampant on October 31.

Several Dahmer-related merchandises has been featured on online markets like eBay and Amazon in preparation for Halloween. According to a recent report by Buzzfeed, eBay has put an end to the sale of the items because it violates the company's policy on violence as well as violent criminals.

The costume consists of an orange jumpsuit, a mask, and glasses, which resembles what Evan Peters wore while he portrayed the serial killer in the Netflix crime drama. An eBay spokesperson revealed that listings for the items were being taken down as they were now banned.

They said, "These items are prohibited for sale on our site, and we are removing them." According to eBay's policies, online sellers were prohibited from posting wares that "promote or glorify violence." The items were also not to be associated with violent people, their acts, or any crime scene in the past hundred years.

While eBay is trying to take down Dahmer-related items, the merchandise is still up and thriving on Amazon. On the online store, a "Jeffrey Dahmer costume" search will yield glasses similar to the serial killer and several shirts with inscriptions that make light of his cannibalism.

These include T-Shirts that read "If you can't beat 'em, eat 'em" and "I eat guys like you for breakfast." While alive, Dahmer was responsible for the death of 17 people, most of which were Black men and boys. He enacted bone-chilling acts on them, including necrophilia, dismemberment, and cannibalism.

Murphy's Netflix series on the murderer was released on September 21 and aroused public interest in him. The production also received much criticism from the public, especially from the families of his victims. They revealed the Netflix series made "retraumatized" them.
