The latest season of “Dancing With the Stars” is receiving quite the backlash from fans.
Both “America’s Next Top Model” host Tyra Banks and “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” actor Alfonso Ribeiro, who are currently co-hosting the new season of “Dancing with the Stars”, have both been the target of controversy recently. Now, fans are claiming the show is “rigged” after the latest elimination.
Fans Speak Out After Latest Elimination On ‘DWTS’
The dancers went back in time as they competed on Prom Night during Tuesday’s episode.
Jessie James Decker and her partner Alan Bersten danced a Viennese Waltz to Kelly Clarkson’s “Breakaway,” but later, they were crowned Prom King and Queen as part of the dance marathon, earning them extra points, making them safe from elimination.
Joseph Baena and his pro dancer Daniella Karagach and Heidi D’Amelio and her partner Artem Chigvintsev both ended up in the bottom two. After a tough decision, the judges decided it was time for Joseph Baena to go home — leaving fans furious.
One Twitter user shared their thoughts on social media, writing, “Dancing with the stars tonight was rigged how tf is Vinny still here and 2 great dancers with consistently good scores were in the bottom two.”

There is even a poll going around on Twitter, asking fans if they think the reality show is rigged — to which 87.3% say yes.

Other fans, however, showed support for the show, saying they know how hard the celebrities are working each and every week.
Other Controversy Surrounding ‘DWTS’
“Dancing With the Stars” host Alfonso Ribeiro recently got some heat from fans after calling Shangela by the wrong name.
And prior to this mistake, during the second week of the competition, host Alfonso Ribeiro spoke to Shangela following her performance, asking the star what it’s like performing as the first male couple on the long-running competition series. Shangela was quick to call out Ribero for using the wrong terminology, further explaining what it meant to her to be a part of the show.
“Well, first of all, it’s male and Drag Diva, but yes, indeed,” Shangela said laughing. “Honestly, you know what? To be anyone who gets to walk through a door, there’s a responsibility. Not only to walk through there fiercely but also to push it open for the others coming behind. And that’s what we’re hoping to do tonight.”
Tyra Bank is also getting hate from fans, especially after the October 3, 2022 when she gave a shout-out to Charli D’Amelio’s friends who were supporting her and sitting in the audience — including D’Amelio’s boyfriend, musician Landon Barker — whom she called by the wrong name.
Barker, 19, is the son of Blink-182 drummer and Kourtney Kardashian’s husband, Travis Barker. But, when Banks introduced Barker, she called him “Logan” by mistake.
The reality competition show recently moved from its home of ABC to Disney’s streaming service, Disney+, and airs every Monday night at 8 p.m. ET.
