Christine Brown is finally moving on and away from her past in a romantic way!
The TV star, who was once spiritually married to fellow "Sister Wives" star Kody Brown from 1994 to 2021, is back in the dating scene after about a year of being single. She shared details of her preferences as a single, dating woman while also revealing her hope to still get married again.
Christine Brown Is Dating For Fun, Without Any Romance
The 50-year-old single woman is living her post-Kody life to the fullest as she now decides whatever she wants and does it on her own accord. In a recent interview, she told ET’s Deidre Behar:
"I’m single now, right? So I kind of just decide what I want to do and then do it. It’s been just very, very simple. Everything’s just a lot easier as far as just planning and day-to-day life."
The mother-of-six, who has also moved on from her marriage, has started dating "very, very casually." In her words, “Not romantic, because that’s way too fast, but dating for sure. I’m dating just for fun. Just keeping everything super light because that’s just who I am right now.”
Christine may be dating only for fun now, but she also plans to get married again. Even so, she intends to be in a monogamous relationship, not a plural union like her past marriage. She is also looking for something important apart from “kindness” in her future man, which she did not find in her ex.
The onscreen personality wants someone who is attracted to her, as she called it, “a really great thing,” while referencing Kody’s statement about not wanting intimacy anymore in their marriage.
Kody's declaration might have been the deciding factor, as The Blast revealed, Christine was already done with the marriage months before they officially called it quits. While discussing removing her wedding rings amid her conflict with her former partner, she claimed that the wedding bands felt like a “noose” and removing them was comforting.
She revealed this during an episode in the 17th season of “Sister Wives” where she declared that she no longer saw herself as married to Kody anymore. The April-born confessed, “I mean, I don’t wear our wedding rings anymore most of the time. I just feel like they’re a noose, to be honest with you.”
The revelation was filmed ahead of her 27th wedding anniversary with Kody. Still, at the time, they were already at odds given the internal problems in their polygamous relationship, spanning several years. She had no plans on marking the milestone, as she mentioned that she would not “pretend” her relationship with the patriarch was not damaged.
Christine’s confessional hints that there may have been a major, permanent falling out for a while, which her estranged husband was reportedly unaware of until she revealed her intentions not to memorialize their wedding anniversary.
In his video confessional, he revealed that his request to his ex-wife to honor their marriage milestone on social media was a test to check if she would “protect our kids.” Kody also said he would keep on testing her, with the hope that she would realize leaving the marriage was not worth it. He added:
"You never know when she’s just going to realize that life she’s looking to create somewhere else isn’t going to be any better than what she’s had or got."
The "Becoming Sister Wives" Co-author Always Wanted To Be A Third Wife
Almost a year after the former couple’s split last November, Christine shed more light on the longtime relationship, revealing a few interesting details about her polygamous beliefs. The Blast shared that the mother-of-six, who was once a Mormon believer did not grow up with monogamist principles as her religion did not shun a man having many partners.
Her ideals appeared to have contributed to her wish for a polygamous relationship, even though she also wanted to be a third wife for other reasons. Christine viewed being a first wife as a stressful position that involved handling all the man’s responsibilities, while second wives seemed to go through a “lot of hard times and change.”
So, she was okay with being a third wife as she described it as “easy.” Fortunately, her wish came to pass in 1994 when she became spiritually united with Kody, ultimately joining the plural Brown family.
