Joe Exotic has been cut off his husband, Dillan Passage because he has been placed isolation while in jail due to the pandemic.
Dillan appeared on Andy Cohen‘s SiriusXM radio show on Wednesday where he delivered a captivating interview about his interesting life with Joe and how accurate the Netflix documentary is. Cohen peppered him with questions to help fill in the gaps of their love story and Dillan said he spoke to Joe multiple times a day until his recent prison move.
“We speak like three to five times every day,” Dillan told Andy, “but since he’s been moved to this new facility they are putting him on like, COVID-19 isolation because of the previous jail he was at, there were cases.”
Andy didn’t pull any punches and put Joe’s husband on the spot with a hard-hitting question.
“Are you still in love with him?” Cohen asked.
“I do love Joe, you know, he’s been there for me during my darkest times,” Dillan answered. “I’m not just gonna dip out and abandon him when he needs me most.”
Passage admitted that they first met on Grindr and that he was addicted to prescription medication at the time but is now sober. As far as all the implied drug use on the Netflix series, he says that he never witnessed any substance abuse at the zoo. He made it clear that he tried to stay out of Joe’s professional life.
“The producers, they put the story together very, very well I think. They stayed true to the entire storyline.” he explained. “I even learned a lot of things that I didn’t know.”
He continued to say that he did not know all the details about Joe’s feud with Carole Baskin. “I tried to stay out of his business,” he said. However, he did confirm the story about Joe’s Prince Albert and that he encouraged all his husbands to get their nipples pierced.
“Joe, he’s a really good guy,” Dillan stated. “He may have made some sketchy decisions and I know he regrets them but his intentions are really good at heart.”
When Cohen pressed him on whether he ever saw any animal abuse at the zoo, he strongly stated that he never witnessed any wrongdoing.
“If he really mistreated the animals do you think he’d really be able to walk into a ten plus cats at one time?” Dillan asked.
