Hollywood star, Emma Watson has spoken about the great things in her friendship with fellow "Harry Potter" co-star Tom Felton.

The pair first met on the set of "Harry Potter" decades ago. Although they initially started on the wrong foot, their connection blossomed into a longstanding friendship.

In the memoir of Felton's upcoming book, the actress admitted that her connection to him is "one of the purest loves." Watson also shut down rumors of being romantically linked, saying their relationship has always been platonic.

She also shared that they have "always had each other's backs," adding that Felton had helped her through crucial points in her life.

Ahead of the launch of Felton's new memoir, Watson opened up about her relationship with her former co-star, which started when they debuted in the "Harry Potter" fantasy film series.

The movie based on J.K Rowling's eponymous novels starred the duo for years in the roles of Draco Malfoy/Felton and Hermione Granger/Watson.

"You know that person in your life who makes you feel seen?" Watson wrote in the book's foreword, per Insider. "That person who is somehow a witness to all that unfolds? That person who knows — really knows — what is happening to you and what you're going through, without anything having to be said? For me, that person is Tom Felton."

Though they are now great friends, the two actors weren't always that way but spending time together helped change that narrative.

"When we first met, I was a moony and probably rather annoying 9-year-old girl who followed him round like a puppy, desperate for his attention," she said.

Emma Watson Is 'Thankful' For Their Friendship

Watson further reflected on Felton's role in "Harry Potter." Felton's character was a vicious young lad who, alongside his gang of friends, wreaked havoc in almost every installment of the film's franchise.

However, the actress pointed out that her dear friend "has a heart the size of a planet" and was far different from his mischievous "Harry Potter" character.

"He might have played a bully. He might even have sometimes felt like a bully. But take it from me: he couldn't be further from one," the "Ballet Shoes" star added. "He is creative, sensitive, and whole-hearted. He is a person who wants to love everything and everyone."

"The friendship we share has allowed me to move through some of the most challenging and soul-searching moments in my life," the actress continued before adding that she was "thankful" for having him by her side all this while.

No Romantic Connection

Despite their closeness, the pair have remained platonic friends since they first met. The actress shared that they have never shared any romantic connection in the "Harry Potter" 20th-anniversary reunion special that premiered on HBO Max earlier this year.

"Nothing has ever, ever, ever, ever happened romantically with us," "We just love each other. That's all I could say about that."

The "Beauty and the Beast" star also repeated her view in the memoir, adding that people have refused to believe that they have never been intimate.

She added, per Insider: "For more than 20 years now, we've loved each other in a special way, and I've lost count of the times that people have said to me, 'You must have drunkenly made out, just once!' 'You must have kissed!' 'There must be something!'"

'We're Soulmates'

Watson went on to list other great things about the "Feed" actor. She shared that he had a mannerism of assuming the best about everyone.

"Even when he doesn't have the whole picture, he'll never doubt that I'm coming from a good place and will have done my very best," she wrote per Insider. "That's true friendship, and to be seen and loved like that is one of the great gifts of my life."

For the "Little Women" actress, the connection she shares with Felton is "one of the purest loves," going far "deeper" than having a romantic affair.

The actress said, "We're soulmates, and we've always had each other's backs. I know we always will. It makes me emotional to think about it. "The world is lucky to have you, but I'm even luckier to have you as my friend."
