On last night's episode of "Dancing With the Stars," actress Selma Blair announced she will not continue competing on this season due to health concerns.
“I’ve been monitored … I had MRIs and the results came back, and it all adds up to, I can’t go on with the competition,” Blair told her dance partner Sasha Farber in her taped piece that aired before she took the dance floor for the last time on Monday night.
The ballroom was filled with emotion, including from her partner, Farber, who was clearly holding back tears. Now, the "Dancing With the Star" pro is taking to social media to comment on how much Blair means to him.
Sasha Farber On Selma Balir's Impact
The "Dancing With the Stars" pro was extremely emotional after Blair informed him of her MRI results, leading to her departure from the show. The two danced for the last time, both teary-eyed, as they received a perfect score to end their journey together.
Now, Farber is taking to social media to share with his followers just how much Blair impacted his life.
"I don’t even know where to start," Farber began. "This has been the darkest year of my life, and I stared to finally see the joy and light, the first day I got to hold your hand and teach you your first steps. You have taught me so much about myself and the things that really matter in life. You have inspired me and the whole world."
Farber continued, "This journey has been one for the record books, there was not one day that you didn’t give it your all, you showed so much dedication and determination. I am for ever grateful for you and I will always have your back, you are a shining star and my champion @selmablair @dancingwiththestars #family."
Selma Blair danced her last dance on "Most Memorable Year" night of "Dancing With the Stars" last night. She recieved all 10s from the judges for her waltz to Andra Day's rendition of "What the World Needs Now Is Love."
Selma Blair Speaks Out On Chronic Illness
Selma Blair first announced her multiple sclerosis diagnosis in 2018, but has not let that stop her from achieving her goal or dreams.
The “Legally Blonde” star said her last dance was for "everyone who has tried and hopes that they could do more, but also the power in realizing when it's time to walk away."
"With a chronic illness you do have special considerations and my body is definitely taking a hit," Blair added while explaining the decision to walk away from the competition reality show. "It's way too much for the safety of my bones, there's just intensive bone trauma and inflammation among rips and tears so I can do extensive damage that, of course, I do not want."
"Dancing With the Stars" continues tonight, October 19, as the stars dance to the theme of “Prom Night”. The episode will air live on Disney+.
