Dwayne Johnson Spills DC Secrets On Twitter
The professional wrestler-turned-actor is playing a superhero (or villain) Black Adam in the new DC film of the same name. He has been hinting to his followers and fans for weeks that DC is on the mend and making great moves.
One of those moves is following in Marvel’s footsteps and organizing their new films in phases. “This means a lot, thank you so much.” Wrote The Rock in a tweet. “#BlackAdam will serve as our phase 1 of storytelling in our DC Universe. Exciting times for the brand to build up and build out.” He continued.
He went on to promote the film and an article calling the role, his “best performance of his career”.

Dwayne Johnson May Have Spoken Too Soon

The actor was busy celebrating but his followers and DC fanatics were overwhelmed and confused about the announcement. Most of them believe that he meant ‘Phase 2’ because… we already have several good DC films including Snyder cut!
“Phase 1 already started with MoS, BvS, WW, AM, SS and ZSJL,” one follower reminded the “cocky” actor. “We already have phase 1 with Zack.” One clever follower reiterated Johnson’s own words back to him, “But Dwayne, you just said you didnt want DC to be like Marvel!”
An eagle-eyed fan pointed out that the review of the article that Rock was sharing, isn’t necessarily a scare you want to brag about. “When you’re sharing a 3/5 review, this film is going to be bad.”
Black Adam Is Gritty

Another not-so-secret The Rock revealed during promoting the film is that Black Adam is not for the faint of heart. They want to make sure to give it that dark, gritty feel that DC comics often have.
Along with producer Hiram Garcia who states, “We really wanted to make sure that we honored the character of Black Adam,” noting the film is only PG-13 because of all the cuts they had to make.
“We did have to make a lot of edits, actually,” said co-producer Beau Flynn. “There are some personal moments that we really love, but we had to let them go.” However, The Rock has been expressing a level of excitement for the film that makes everyone want to run out and see it.
Especially now that it is allegedly the first film in phase one!
