Shanna Moakler's former boyfriend, Matthew Rondeau, returned to Instagram recently with a message of gratitude!
The chef has been under fire lately after his seemingly violent outburst concerning allegations that his girlfriend was cheating on him. After the angry video went viral, he was arrested and charged with felony domestic violence but subsequently released. Now he is opening up and speaking about the situation again.
Matthew Rondeau Feels 'Blessed' Following Charges Against Him Being Dropped
The model has been in an on-and-off relationship with "Big Brother" alum Shanna Moakler for a couple of years, and they are known for their very tumultuous relationship. However, their fights got to a boiling point when he was arrested on Domestic Violence Charges.
Although he was released that same day in February, it wasn't until recently that the charges were dropped. It must have been a traumatic process for the 29-year-old as he poured out his feelings in a lengthy message via his Instagram story.
"I am so humbly grateful and thankful for the court's decision to drop all charges regarding the domestic violence allegations against me," the statement began. He thanked his lawyer Jeffery Vallens, his family, and friends, who he claimed had been by his side since the start of his ordeal. Ending the message, he wrote:
"I love you all very much. Lastly, I want to thank God for always being with me, and I'm very blessed to be able to now move on towards my dreams and aspirations."
Regarding his legal troubles, TMZ obtained the legal documents showing that the Los Angeles City Attorney charged Moakler's man with battery, misdemeanor domestic violence, and vandalism.
The publication also broke the story of how he was caught months ago allegedly getting physical with the former Miss USA during a heated argument. Fans will recall that right after he posted the aggressive video accusing her of cheating on him with their neighbor, he vowed never to get back with her.
The "Joey" guest star also claimed she was done with him, especially after he was arrested. Only for her to announce a few days later that she was pregnant for the 29-year-old, which ultimately led them to seek couples counseling with Dr. Drew.
After being spotted together several times, the 47-year-old told the gossip blog, "I'm not pressing charges. I am hoping the city attorney respects my wishes and drops everything as well."
She emphasized that she would ultimately support Rondeau because the entire situation had disrupted their lives, and she was tired of it. Adding, "We have both learned from this experience we never wish to have been public, and we would like to move forward in a positive and peaceful manner." The poker player was also reported saying:
"I haven't even spoken or made a comment because I am so saddened and disgusted with the narrative the media has portrayed me as."
He also hoped that the city of LA would allow him to show them that they made the right choice in dropping all the charges against him. The social media influencer referred to himself as "an admirable person, an amazing son, and a very respectable and loving partner."
Shanna Moakler & Matthew Rondeau's Rocky Relationships Timeline
The "Bridalplasty" host and the Rhode Island native have had a very rocky relationship since meeting two years ago. Fans will recall that she had previously been married to Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker with whom she shares two children. Since their divorce, he has moved on with "Poosh" founder Kourtney Kardashian.
US Magazine shared that news of his new romance made headlines that caused her to speak up about her love life, saying, "I'm with my boyfriend, Matthew. I'm super happy." She mentioned that they were in a great place and she would not be re-creating things from her past with her new beau.
The one-time "Playmate of the Month" exclusively told the publication that she believed Barker was mirroring situations from their relationship into his new life. However, it looked like even her kids were not necessarily into her new boyfriend, as her daughter Alabama claimed in 2021 in an Instagram story that "Matthew is nothing but awful to her. Not only that, but he cheats on her."
Moakler reportedly shut down her daughter's allegations adding that she was heartbroken about her comments. But two months after that, Rondeau confirmed he had called it quits with the reality star.
They did not last long apart as the magazine confirmed that the pair would give it another go. The decision to come back together did not last long because things turned worse when she joined "Celebrity Big Brother" in 2022.
Although she claimed to miss her boyfriend on the show, the duo had unfollowed each other when she was evicted from the hit series. The cause of their fight was said to be that he was jealous of the blonde beauty's connection with a fellow houseguest.
