Things got heated between Carolina Panthers wide receiver Robbie Anderson and wide receivers coach Joe Dailey and interim head coach Steve Wilk during yesterday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. Now, the team has made a drastic move!

After the initial verbal altercation between Anderson and Dailey, which occurred during the first half of the game, the wide receiver was then spotted sitting alone, away from his teammates, on the sideline during the third quarter.

Not long after, Anderson once again got into a fight with Dailey, which is when Panthers head coach Steve Wilks stepped in and sent Anderson to the locker room, ejecting him from the game.

Now, just hours after the heated incident, Anderson has been traded.

According to reports, Carolina has agreed to trade the 29-year-old wide receiver to the Arizona Cardinals. The specific terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.

This doesn't come as a surprise as many reports have stated the relationship between the wide receiver and the franchise has been on rocky terms for quite some time -- even before the heated argument during yesterday's Panthers-Rams game.

Anderson signed a $20 million two-year contract last year, but the NFL star barely got 500 yards last season. This year, that trend continues as the 29-year-old has not had a stellar week since his 100-yard Week 1 performance.

During the offseason, Anderson made headlines as he hinted at possible retirement.

Robbie Anderson Speaks Out After Being Ejected From Game

After the Panthers lost to the Rams, Robbie Anderson spoke out regarding the ejection, saying he “had no idea” why he was sent to the locker room.

“I was honestly confused,” Anderson said. “I wanted to be in the game. I’ve never had somebody yell to get out of the game. So I was honestly confused and upset by that. I should be. I don’t see nobody that is a true competitor, that knows the value they bring and has a true passion for the game, that will be OK with being told not to do something or being taken out of something when they didn’t do nothing wrong.”

During Anderson’s college career and earlier in his NFL career when he was with the New York Jets, the wide receiver was involved in a few off-field incidents. Speaking to his entire career, Anderson continued, “I don’t want nobody to have a misconception of me. Other times in my life when I’ve had moments of controversy, I didn’t speak up for myself.”

He continued, “It’s not just about me. It’s when young kids go through similar things, they need to know to stand up for themselves.”

The Panthers wide receiver then went on to say that anyone in his position would have been upset if they were told they couldn’t play.

“You shouldn’t be OK with not being on that turf,” he said. “You should want to make a play. Losing is not acceptable. You don’t play this game to lose. You could consider me a loser my whole life growing up. I didn’t get this far in life to continue to be a loser. It’s not what I work for.”
