Retailer Ulta Beauty is being called out online for their “The beauty of “ campaign after allowing influencer Dylan Mulvaney to brag about femininity.
Ulta Beauty Accused of Being Tone Deaf

The retailer took a lashing online shortly after posting their latest interview in a series of interviews that promote inclusivity. The episode hadn’t even dropped yet, but the promo has followers livid about the conversation.
“Trans Girls Can Do It All! Tune into the latest episode of The Beauty Of… where host @DavidLopezzz sits down with guest Dylan Mulvaney to chat all things girlhood Watch now: https://bit.ly/3rSTtKX“
Mulvaney is seen in the clip chatting about all the things that trans women can do: “Now I know I can find love, I know I can still be a performer, I know that I can have a family, I wanna be a mom one day, and I absolutely can,” she says with conviction.
She went on to say, “that’s why the narrative still has a long way to go because when I was grieving boy Dylan, I didn’t know those things were even accessible to me.”

Ulta’s Post Received A Lot of Mixed Comments
When we say a lot, we mean, the comments are still racking up currently and it seems pretty prevalent what side most people are on.
“I spend a LOT of money at ulta. Guess I’ll be going back to Sephora cause as a mother and woman, I find this dude insulting,” revealed one follower.
“Trans girls are boys, actually,” wrote another follower. “Those are two adults. It’s very creepy to hear them talking about girlhood when neither has never experienced it,” followed up another follower.
The comments also touched on more than the trans experience, some women referred to it as “disgusting misogyny,” and another echoed the sentiment. ‘Girlhood’? That is not a female human child. Your disrespect for women is monumental.”
Ulta’s Post Compared To Racism

The beauty retailer was also being compared to racists for their “bold” post. “It’s like blackface but more whiny,” one follower wrote. “I’m black and this is way worse than blackface!” Said another.
Some followers reminded others that isn’t about what’s worse, they both have their own negatives. “They are both bad, The only difference is one is accepted by society for some reason.”
“Please explain the difference between womanface and blackface, because I can’t see one,” asked a follower boasting themselves as “doctor”
Ulta Responds, But It Isn’t ‘Good Enough’

The brand’s beloved followers are not threatening to be absolutely done with the paint retailer. You will never get another dollar of mine. “Hope you enjoy the drop in profits that comes with mocking the vast majority of your customer base.”
Another follower wrote, “OMG you’re hiding replies! I hope women refuse to support your misogynistic stores!”
In the meantime, Ulta has been posting a generic response to some of the more hateful comments.
“Hate has no place at Ulta Beauty or our social channels. Please refrain from posting disrespectful or hateful comments.”
Another comment they are posting frequently is, “At Ulta Beauty, we believe that beauty is for everyone—and we kindly request that everyone be treated with respect on our channels.”
Another popular one is, “We believe that beauty has no boundaries, and we want to create an environment where all expressions of beauty are welcome.”
And one more, “We want our channel to be welcoming to people from all walks of life—even people you may not agree with.”
