Jenna Dewan is known for her acting and dancing skills, and in the newly released Lifetime movie, "Let's Get Physical," she gets to show both of them off. But for this movie, she had to learn something she hasn't done before - pole dancing, and her mom had something to say about that. In a text message Dewan posted as an Instagram Story, she shows her mom's reaction to her new dancing skills.
Jenna Dewan Shared Her Mom's Funny Text Message About Her Pole Dancing
"Great casting. I'm loving your movie!!! You are so right for this part. Did I just say that????" Dewan's mom texted her after watching the movie that was released over the weekend. The text went on to hilariously say, "Good thing I know it's ACTING. U look like you've been pole dancing all your life. Are you sure I know the real you???" Dewan labeled the text, "Mom's commentary is always best."
And speaking of Dewan's mom; the two used to watch Lifetime movies together all the time. "I grew up on those. My mom and I would watch all of them, and I especially love a couple of the elements. I want a bit of escapism, but also the female side of the story that I might not have thought of before," she explained to the Daily Herald. "Also, you want to leave with that 'I can't believe that was a true story' feeling."

"Let's Get Physical" Is Based On A True Story
The Lifetime movie is inspired by the true story of Alexis Wright, who was charged with leading a prostitution ring out of her Zumba dance studio in Kennebunk, Maine in 2012. In the movie, Dewan plays the role of the fitness instructor who teaches women pole dancing, and also leads a double life as a masseuse/madame on the side.
In addition to starring in the movie, Dewan was also a producer alongside Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. "My production company made a multipicture deal with Lifetime, and I was approached by Mark and Kelly about this project, which they'd had for a while," Dewan said. "I adore them, so I was really intrigued to read this. And when I did, I thought it was really fun, but it also made me ask a lot of questions about my own judgments. This town was uprooted by the energy of this woman, and I wanted to partner with Mark and Kelly, so it all came together."
The actress had to take some pole dancing lessons ahead of the movie being filmed. "I've done just about every type of dance, and I wanted to attempt this - and let me tell you, it was really hard," she said. "It uses muscles you usually don't have to, and I only had two days to learn it." According to her fans, and her mom, she nailed it, and even made it appear that she's been pole dancing for a long time. "Looking forward to it. I want to learn this pole techniques..you make it look so easy Jenna!" one follower commented on her post about the film.
