Tom Schwartz Says Divorce From Katie Maloney Made Him Feel Like THIS

Divorce is never an easy process, and for reality stars like Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney, it can be a painfully public process. Schwartz recently spoke about his feelings during the divorce process between him and Maloney and said he felt like "a sad sack of s–t" for the first few months of their separation.

On the other hand, Maloney seems to have handled the situation much better and said she's "single and living my life." The couple's divorce was finalized on October 12th, with them agreeing on the division of their shared assets, including the $2 million home in California.

Schwartz and Maloney announced their separation on Instagram with posts to their individual accounts and seemed to be on amicable terms. However, rumors of Schwartz hooking up with co-star Raquel Leviss and her hints at a flirtatious relationship between them soured the situation.

During the "Vanderpump Rules" panel at Saturday's BravoCon event, Schwartz spoke to Page Six about how he handled his and Maloney's divorce. He said, "I'm guilty of indulging in those feelings a little over it. I got addicted to the sadness, I think."

The reality star explained that he was "a sad sack of sh*t" and that, for a while, he kept "wallowing in my own little pity party." However, he said that he's since gotten a grasp of his emotions and is a lot better. 39-year-old Schwartz also said that his heart is now on the mend.

Schwartz also addressed Maloney, who was seated at a distance from him, and said he still wants only the best for her, despite their divorce. He said to the crowd, "I'm the number one champion for Katie," and then turned to Maloney to say, "I'm rooting for you. I still love you."

On the other hand, Maloney seems like she handled the separation much better. When asked about how she's doing during the panel session, the reality star only said, "I'm single and living my life." She's yet to address Schwartz's statements about his emotional state during their divorce.

The former couple finalized their divorce on October 12th, according to court records Page Six obtained. Last month, they settled the divorce, which was uncontested, and have agreed on the division of their shared assets, including the $2 million home they lived in California.

In March this year, The Blast reported that Maloney had filed for divorce from Schwartz after nearly 12 years together and almost six years of marriage. The former couple announced their separation on Instagram a week before Maloney made the filing.

Maloney's post read, "After 12 years on an adventure through life together Tom and I are ending our marriage. This ending is not met with resentment or animosity, no sides to choose. We have deep admiration for one another that will always remain and we cherish our friendship."

Schwartz confirmed their divorce with a lengthy statement on his Instagram. His post read, "Katie & I are separating. I'm not quite ready to use the 'D' word bc it's too painful. Yes, my heart aches but I'll be ok. Not looking to evoke any sympathy here. I'm not the victim. Not gonna write too sad a song."

As of their divorce announcement, Schwartz and Maloney seemed to be on good terms until his romance rumors with Leviss. Rumors swirled that Schwartz had hooked up with Leviss at Scheana Shay and Brock Davies' Cancun wedding festivities.

Schwartz subsequently denied ever getting physical with Leviss. Meanwhile, a source confirmed to E! News that his flirty friendship with Leviss had created "tension" between him and Maloney, who felt slighted that he'd move on with someone within their circle.

Leviss didn't help matters with her statements about Schwartz to Page Six at BravoCon. The reality star said, "I think he's cute. I feel like we have a little flirty, friendly connection that's lighthearted and fun. He's a very sweet guy, obviously, and easy to talk to. It's just very nice to have a friend in my corner."
