Angelina Jolie has finally got her whole family back so that they can quarantine together. Her eldest son, Maddox, was in South Korea attending university, but his semester was canceled as a result of the coronavirus, which allowed him to come back home and be with his family.
“All the kids are home with Angelina but they have continued seeing Brad and go over for their regular visits,” a source told E! News, suggesting the former couple is still co-parenting together.
The insider added that the family is still finding ways to keep busy. “They are keeping up with their schoolwork, practicing their languages, playing instruments, board games and helping cook dinner,” they said, before adding: “They are having a lot of family time and just hanging out together watching movies.”
Jolie is reportedly homeschooling her children for the time being, which means that Maddox is continuing to learn Korean and Russian. Apparently, Jolie has become quite an effective teacher for her children.
Reporting suggests that she wakes her kids up early, just like she would for school, and makes sure they keep busy all day with a variety of tasks. Although Jolie is spending more time with the kids right now, they also reportedly enjoy spending time with Pitt.
According to a source speaking with Star magazine, the kids have found their dad to be a calming influence as they deal with the fear that has come with the outbreak of coronavirus across the world.
“At the moment they find their dad to be a really calming influence. Brad’s more than happy to have his kids anytime they want, but of course this will be Angie’s decision,” the source said.
Unfortunately, quarantine has made the opportunities for the kids to see Pitt more limited than they would be otherwise. Thankfully, technology allows Pitt to connect with his kids remotely if they want, even as they make sure that they aren’t spreading the virus around unnecessarily.
Jolie and Pitt divorced in 2016 after more than a decade together. Although they are no longer romantically linked, it seems the two of them have figured out a way to be effective co-parents.
Right now, it seems like Jolie is taking on more of the burden of educating her children. Still, reporting suggests that Pitt loves his children, and would happily take on as much responsibility for their future as Jolie would allow. Co-parenting can be tricky, but these ultra-famous movie stars seem to have made it work.
