Singer Gwen Stefani reportedly told her husband, Blake Shelton, to cut ties and distance himself from former "The Voice" co-judge Adam Levine. Shelton and Levine were part of the original squad that helped launch "The Voice" over a decade ago.
While they seemed to have a bromance on tv, previous reports revealed that the duo's relationship was exaggerated on the show.
Levine recently got into hot water with the public after his one-year affair with Instagram model Sumner Stroh was aired out. The artist has since apologized to his wife publicly; however, with the recent report concerning his possible lack of a relationship with Shelton, Levine is still facing the backlash.

Gwen Stefani Reportedly Asked Blake Shelton To Cut Ties With Adam Levine
According to RadarOnline, Stefani disapproves of her husband's relationship with Maroon 5 frontman Levine. A source revealed that after the singer's recent cheating fiasco, the 52-year-old, who is close to Behati Prinsloo, Levine's pregnant wife, asked that Shelton end his relationship with him.
Besides her friendship with Prinsloo, Stefani previously suffered a similar fate when her ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale's affair with their nanny, was publicized in 2015. The insider explained that rather than thinking the "Beautiful Mistakes" singer would be a bad influence on her husband, Stefani was mainly concerned about the principle.
"For her, it's personal," they said. "She isn't worried about Adam being a bad influence [on Blake]; this is about principle."
Blake Shelton And Adam Levine Are Not Close As Seen On 'The Voice'
According to a previous report by RadarOnline, Shelton and Levine were never particularly close despite their apparent bromance on "The Voice." A source claimed that their relationship was on "life support" after the "Sugar" singer left "The Voice" in 2019.
An insider revealed that while the two judges are actually friends, their relationship was grossly exaggerated on camera. "It wasn't all an act," they said. "But the relationship was exaggerated for TV. When Adam left the show, the two of them didn't have to pretend anymore."
Another source added, "They haven't spoken in a while. There was no big dramatic falling out, but they both just moved on. It happens all the time with work relationships."
A separate insider, per Radar, claimed that Levine had a lot of drama during his time on the show and has not been missed since his departure. "He has secrets and was difficult backstage at 'The Voice.' When he left the show, there wasn't a single person, including Blake, who missed Adam and his drama."

In a December interview on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Shelton revealed that he did not invite Levine to his July wedding with Stefani. He jokingly explained that the reason the artist wasn't included in the guest list was due to a previous interview he did on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."
"That's the reason we didn't invite him to the wedding is that interview he did on your show," the "God's Country" singer said. "It's like, 'I'm not inviting him.'"
Levine's interview was in April, and the Maroon 5 singer joked about not supporting Shelton's marriage to Stefani. He further revealed that he couldn't believe his "The Voice" co-judge was getting married to the "Rich Girl" singer. "She's so cool, and he's not," he added.
Levine went on to say that he would cause a scene if invited to the wedding and joked that he would likely not be invited due to his comments. The singer's words proved accurate, and Shelton further revealed that he purposely neglected to invite him because he thought it would be "funny."

Levine and Shelton were integral to the launch of "The Voice" in 2011 and stayed on the show longer than most. In 2019, the Maroon 5 singer announced that he would be leaving the singing competition after 16 seasons as a judge. Three years later, Shelton made a similar announcement and would hang his microphone up after 23 seasons.
The "Nobody But You" artist posted about his departure earlier this week and revealed that the decision was one he struggled with. Shelton wrote, "I've been wrestling with this for a while, and I've decided it's time for me to step away from The Voice after next season."
"This show has changed my life in every way for the better, and it will always feel like home to me. It's been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns, and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew, and catering people; you are the best," he continued.
