Mark Wahlberg Sold His $90M Mansion For A 'Better Life'

Mark Wahlberg got the heck out of dodge… well L.A. when he realized it was hindering his wife and his kid's development.

All in the name of simplicity, the Unchartered actor shared on The Talk that he had to move his family out of the sunshine state because it wasn’t helping them.

“I moved to California many years ago to pursue acting, and I’ve only made a couple of movies in the entire time that I was there,” he insists. “I want to be able to work from home.”

He also shared that the state didn’t have much to offer his wife and four children.

“To be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer, this made a lot more sense for us.”

As if the well-established actor was in need of any more money, he listed his California mansion back in April for $87.5 million. The estate is 30,500 square feet and he purchased it back in 2009 for $8.25 million. Clearly, Wahlberg is making serious bank on the sale, we’d sell too.

The house, sorry, the estate has 12 bedrooms and 20 bathrooms. He can watch movies at home in his home theater, and store expensive bottles of wine in his own wine cellar.

He doesn’t even have to leave his home to play a quick round of golf because, the ground features a five-hole golf course, along with a tennis court, a skate park, and a separate guest house.

The Ted actor now calls Las Vegas, Nevada home. He believes it is perfect for his busy family. He purchased the home in July for $15.6M, “We came here to just kind of give ourselves a new look, a fresh start for the kids, and there’s a lot of opportunity here. I’m really excited about the future.”

Wahlberg also revealed that he has big plans for the Nevada house including a “state-of-the-art studio” and her cheekily dubbed it; “Hollywood 2.0.”

He doesn’t only have home renovation on his mind, Wahlberg also claims he wants to build “a shoe factory and a factory for Municipal,” the company he founded in 2019 that specializes in sports apparel.
