15-year-old actress Demi Singleton just scored a huge payday for a role in Lee Daniels' Netflix film, "The Deliverance."
The young star made a huge splash playing a young Serena Williams in 'King Richard,' and it appears her star in Hollywood is still on the rise. As you know, because she is still a minor, the contracts for her movies are filed with the courthouse. A judge will need to sign off on the amount she is paid for each film.
According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Demi -- who recently signed with William Morris Agency -- will rake in a whopping $175,000 for her role in the new film.
Demi Singleton Pulling In The Big Bucks For New Movie Role 'The Deliverance'
Singleton is joined by fellow actors, Omar Epps, Miss Lawrence, Anthony B. Jenkins, Andra Day, Glenn Close, Mo'Nique, and Aunjanue Ellis, to name a few. 'The Deliverance' is scheduled to be released in 2023.
Along with the cash, Demi's contract has a few more perks that will make the job a little easier. "One (1) first-class hotel room (which shall be one two-bedroom hotel room) or alternatively, at the Company's sole discretion, furnished housing, for Artist and Guardian," is included while filming.
Plus, she will get a handsome $75 per day for herself and a parent as per diem. Just think of the good food you could get with that kind of dough!
Anytime the movie is filmed on location, the production company will buy "One (1) business-class round-trip air transportation for each of Artist and Guardian to and from such Distant Location."
'King Richard' Star's Contract Details Perks On Set Of New Lee Daniel's Movie
While on the set, Singleton will get her very own "triple banger" dressing room. We looked it up, and a "triple banger" is "a trailer with only three rooms, making each room slightly bigger than a honey wagon. The rooms are still attached to one another but have a bit more space. These trailers are typically reserved for guest stars in TV and supporting roles in the film." Sounds pretty good!
As expected, a specific clause in Singleton's contract outlines that the production company will not require the young actress to "appear nude and/or in simulated sex scenes."
Interestingly, the contract specifies which media outlets they will allow to use images from the film, and claims they will not use "tabloids" while promoting the film.
"Stills containing Artist's likeness shall not be furnished by Company to the National Enquirer, Star, Midnight Globe, or any similar tabloid (it being understood that publications such as People Magazine, US, OK! and In Touch shall not be considered tabloids) without Artist's prior written consent (it being understood that Company shall not be in breach hereof if such tabloid publications obtain stills of Artist from persons other than Company or via access to any digital server used by Company to which the press is generally given access.)" it reads.
We broke the story, Adam Sandleris paying his daughters $65,000 each for his new Netflix film. But, in that case, we think he is getting a bit of a daddy discount!
