Jenelle Evans had no idea she’d be counting on her cosmetics line for a main source of income when she decided to bring back her cosmetics line, but now the big question is whether fans will support her business after the controversy surrounding her dog and kids.
According to documents obtained by The Blast, the former “Teen Mom” star filed on April 1 to revive her trademark application for “JE Cosmetics.”
The reality star first launched her cosmetics company, which included lipstick and false eyelashes, back in 2017. She had also filed for a trademark, however there were major issues with her application after U.S. Patent & Trademark officials felt her idea conflicted with an already established trademark for a company called JE Salon.
Jenelle soon faced other hurdles in her business, and ended up quietly closing up shop towards the end of 2018. Her website was taken down and her trademark application was officially abandoned.
It appears her timing to get production going again wasn’t the best, as one month after she began teasing new products and making the filing, her husband David Eason murdered her french bulldog, Nugget.
The Instagram page for JE Cosmetics has been littered with fans spewing hate over Nugget’s death, even as she teases a new product launch allegedly scheduled for later this year.
Shortly after Nugget’s death, Jenelle and David were the target of a child protective services investigation, and as we reported, they have now lost custody of all their children.
It’s unclear if the controversy surrounding Jenelle will have a negative impact on her cosmetics line, or if she’ll be able to makeup with her fans while trying to regain custody of her children.
