Coronavirus is really taking a toll on the entertainment, and we don’t just mean the number of celebrities, athletes, and entertainers that are testing positive for the virus. We mean the controversial stances that various actors have taken in regards to the virus. You might be familiar with the recent Vanessa Hudgens' controversy where she made light of the issue to all of her Instagram followers. This time, however, the controversy surrounds former “Lost” and Marvel actress Evangeline Lilly, who made some pretty surprising comments this past week, which may have led to her being dropped from the next “Ant-Man” movie.

The 40-year-old actress recently made comments about the coronavirus that caused some commotion with the general public. Lilly posted to social media that life was “#businessasusual” for her and her kids amidst the coronavirus pandemic and urges for the population to stay indoors. Lily posted a photo of her morning tea and captioned it, “Just dropped my kids off at gymnastics camp. They all washed their hands before going in. They are playing and laughing. #businessasusual.” Many of Lilly’s followers began to call her out, as millions of Americans have been self-isolating to prevent spreading the virus.

Lilly explained to her fans that they aren’t self-isolating in her house, and referred to the coronavirus as a “respiratory flu” while also adding, “There’s ‘something’ every election year.” Lilly then went on to say, “I am also immune compromised at the moment. I have two young kids. Some people value their lives over freedom, some people value freedom over their lives. We all make our choices. With love and respect. EL.” This ended up causing quite the uproar with fans.

While the downplaying of coronavirus was enough to cause her fans and the media to go into a tizzy, it is being reported that Lilly has lost an important role because of it, as well. Lilly, who played Hope van Dyne/Wasp in the superhero flick Ant-Man and then reprised her role for both Ant-Man and the Wasp and Avengers: Endgame, is reportedly no longer the co-lead for the third installment of the film, because of her controversial comments this past week.

An inside source is claiming that Marvel has officially changed the storyline as well as her role in the upcoming film due to the comments she has made. The source told We Got This Covered that marvel has decided to reduce her involvement in the third film and that the studio is taking a different direction with the story for the third installment. While this has yet to be confirmed by Marvel or by Evangeline Lilly herself, it wouldn’t the first time an actor/actress lost a job because of social media comments.
