Jennette McCurdy's Memoir Holds The #1 Spot On New York Times Bestseller List For 8 Weeks!

Jennette McCurdy's memoir, "I'm Glad My Mom Died" has held the number one spot on the New York Times Bestsellers Print Hardcover list for eight weeks, and McCurdy is showing her appreciation for all who have helped make that happen in an Instagram post.

Captioning her post, "Thank you all so much for making I’m Glad My Mom Died a #1 New York Times bestseller 8 weeks in a row!! I’m so grateful for you all and am beyond glad you’re connecting with the words. ♥️?," the actress now turned author has been receiving a lot of praise for telling her story. Drew Barrymore chimed in on the post writing, "this is what being brave does!! You have helped so many of us. Thank you." Molly Shannon added, "So wonderful Jennette!!!! ??"

Other followers commented, "So deserved! I couldn’t put your book down—so well written and riveting. Thank you for sharing your story! ?," "Honestly the best book I’ve read in years!!! Finished it in a day and while I want to lend it out to everyone I know, I’m also afraid that I’ll lose it and that would be devastating. Your writing really spoke to me. Two weeks ago, the "iCarly" star posted about being included on the "Time 100 Next" list, as well as praising Molly Shannon for writing the piece. "Thank you @time. I’m honored to be included on your #timenext100 list. I screamed when I heard the news and immediately drove to Disneyland, where I bought a pair of Halloween pants with glow-in-the-dark ghosts on them to celebrate. every time I wear those Halloween pants, I think of this incredible honor and I feel very cool, and then I look down and realize I’m wearing glow-in-the-dark ghost pants," the caption began. "And a huge thank you to @theofficialsuperstar for writing the piece. molly is a gem of a person, twice as lovely and magical as you hope and expect her to be. she’s been tremendously supportive of my work."

The caption went on to explain why McCurdy feels luck to know Shannon and about a recent meeting between the two. "We got breakfast recently and had hard boiled eggs and toast and swapped intimate stories and laughed and I just felt so effortless and comfortable around her, despite the fact that my face was mildly peeling from over-applying my tretinoin the night before," she wrote. "As Molly wheeled away on her cute little bike with a basket I thought, now that is a GOOD person. I’m lucky to know her ♥️"

The memoir details McCurdy's life - the good, the bad, and everything in between. She writes about her narcissistic mother's abuse, her days as a child actor and what it was like auditioning and on set, battling an eating disorder, and everything else she's endured in her life, in a heartbreaking yet also humorous way.
