Willow Smith got candid about her days as a child star.
She shot to fame in 2010 hit song, “Whip My Hair.”
She was just 10 years old when the song came out and less than two years later she wanted out of the spotlight.

Willow told her famous parents, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, she was throwing the towel in on her music career for the time being.
She recently sat down with Bevy Smith on Sirius XM’s “Bevelations” and got candid about her decision to step back from the spotlight.
Smith is a big fan of people who “step away” and praised the 21-year-old for doing just that.
Willow Admits She Could've Gone Down A "Dark Path"
“I saw at a very young age the dark path I could’ve gone down,” she admitted. “I think I kind of caught myself before my coping mechanisms started too early. I just knew I was on that edge. I could feel it.”
At the time she didn’t know what those feelings were, but explained she’s very thankful she made the decision to step back.
Willow noted that if she hadn’t stepped back there could’ve been some “earlier tragedies.”
“I knew I needed to be a kid,” Willow continued. “Going into 12 I had touched a sadness that I didn’t know existed… and that was terrifying, because I was like, ‘I’ve never felt this before. This is obviously not healthy and I need this top this before it becomes a darker place.”

She continued to explain how “it felt wrong, I just knew everything felt wrong and even though I experience fear in my everyday life pertaining to my music [now]. The fear is an ‘upward and forward motion’ fear. It’s not a, like, deep heart breaking like world shattering fear.”
Willow said her higher self told her “No. This is going to go bad for you.”
She listened to her higher self and everything has worked out for the best.
Earlier this year, Willow’s father famously slapped Chris Rock at the 98th Academy Awards in an unprecedented moment.
Following the March 27th award show, Willow asked her fans for kindness.

Willow’s message and request for kindness comes on the heels of her mother’s plea for healing.
The message read, “You know who’s going through a lot right now? Literally everyone. Just be kind.”
On March 29, Jada shared a note that read, “This is a season for healing and I’m here for it.”

On the opposite side of the peace and love aisle was Jaden Smith, Will’s second-born son, and Jada’s first-born.
Following his father’s public display of anger, Jaden Smith took to Twitter to post, “And That’s How We Do It.”

While he could be referring to his dad’s Oscar win, Twitterati took it in context of the slap and a debate ensued.
One person shot back at Jaden writing, “Watching you dad have an emotionally violent meltdown over a mild joke on live TV and in fron of every important person in Hollywood isn’t as bada** you seem to think it is.”
Another criticized him responding,” Jaden, your father is a 53-year-old grown adult man. Dude should already have his s**t together, by now. I would actually be embarrassed to see my father act like this, in public. Especially over a vanilla joke, from a professional comedian..”
