'RHOBH' Star Denise Richards Sues Ex-Landlord For Leaking Her Private Information

“Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Denise Richards is accusing her former landlord of leaking her private information which has caused her emotional distress.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Richards and her husband Aaron Phypers have filed a cross-complaint against Anthony Ellrod and Christopher Masterson. Ellrod and Materson originally sued Richards accusing her of trashing a Calabasas rental property.

In newly filed documents, Richards and Phypers deny all allegations of wrongdoing or fraud. Richards claims the landlords are the ones who breached the contract, NOT her. She is adamant the home was returned in the same condition they received it.

Further, she accuses the landlords of having “publicized and/or caused to be publicized private information” concerning her. She says a normal person “would consider the publicity highly offensive.”

Richards says she has suffered “great mental and physical pain and discomfort, annoyance, distress, anguish, worry, anxiety, pain and suffering, and has lost wages” as a result. She is suing seeking unspecified damages.

Back in January, Ellrod and Masterson sued Richards and Phypers for breach of contract and fraud. In the suit, the plaintiffs said they leased Richards a Calabasas home in July, 2018.

The lease had specific terms about the animals allowed inside the home. The property owners claim Richards agreed there "would house no animals on the property other than two pot-bellied pigs and three dogs." She also agreed to "properly use, operate, and safeguard the property, keeping it clean and sanitary, would pay for all damage to the property caused by tenants or pets."

The lease had a provision stating, “upon vacating the premises defendants would return the surrender the property to plaintiffs empty of all personal property, and would remove all debris, return the property in the same condition as at the commencement of the lease."

The owners accused Richards of leaving the home with “significant damage” to the property. They believe she violated the terms over the pets allowed inside the home. The suit accused the couple of fraud based on the alleged misrepresentations when signing the contract.

As The Blast first reported, Richards’ lawyers had been in contact with the property owners prior to the lawsuit being filed. Sources tell The Blast, Richards and her husband never lived in the home and they rented it for a close family member.

Richards’ letter claimed she found, "fecal matter found in virtually every room, rat and possum carcasses were found in the attic, severe mold was found in the cabinets and surfaces in the restrooms, broken dishwasher, the flooring in the kitchen, living room, dining room, and the hallways had completely mismatched wood flooring." Further, her lawyer wrote, "my clients had videotaped the premises after moving out. There does not appear to be damaged as you describe. I am more than happy to share the videotape with you."

The case is ongoing. Richards recently mourned the death of her beloved dog.
