The Blast reported on SJP’s family tragedy late last month.
On Wednesday, September 28, SJP abruptly left the New York City Ballet’s 10th Anniversary Fall Fashion Gala.
At the time of her exit, the only thing known was that she was tending to a “family emergency.”
That family emergency was the death of her step-father. Forste was married to SJP’s mother, Barbara, for 54 years.
SJP’s family issued a statement following their tragic loss.
