Sarah Jessica Parker is having a hard time following the unexpected death of her step-father.

The actress’ “Sex and the City” and “And Just Like That…” co-star, Cynthia Nixon, revealed to Page Six how her friend is holding up after Paul Giffin Forste’s passing.

“I think it’s really, really tough, you know?” Nixon told the outlet. “It’s not just tough for her own loss, but certainly for her mom [Barbra Forste].”

The Blast reported on SJP’s family tragedy late last month.

On Wednesday, September 28, SJP abruptly left the New York City Ballet’s 10th Anniversary Fall Fashion Gala.

At the time of her exit, the only thing known was that she was tending to a “family emergency.”

That family emergency was the death of her step-father. Forste was married to SJP’s mother, Barbara, for 54 years.

SJP’s family issued a statement following their tragic loss.

“Our family is sad to announce that after an unexpected and rapid illness, Paul Giffin Forste passed away yesterday at age 76,” it read. “In his last moments he was surrounded with the love and gratitude of his adored wife Barbara of 54 years, and children, including Sarah Jessica Parker. Paul will be remembered with the spirit of loving kindness which was his faith, his special delight in his 13 grandchildren, and his sustained belief in making the world a more charitable, tolerant, and beautiful place for all."

SJP is part of the Board of Directors for the NYC Ballet, and according to Page Six, she worked behind the scenes in creating the Fall Fashion Gala.

On Tuesday, the “Sex and the City” star attended the “Hocus Pocus 2” premiere with her husband, Matthew Broderick, and their twin daughters, Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta Elwell.

On September 30, SJP shared a black-and-white photo of her late step-father.

SJP Pays Tribute To Her Step-Father

She wrote alongside the photo, “Paul Giffin Forste. 1946-2022. Godspeed. RIP. Strong like a bull. Til the end.

At home and among all those who loved you dearly, you will be missed always. We will take good care of Mommy, who you worshipped for 54 years. X, SJ.”

Amy Sedaris commented on the photo, “So beautiful . Thinking of you Always and I know you know I am.???????❤️?.”

“Sending love to you + your sweet family. Xx,” another commented.

“I’m so sorry. He was a beautiful, kind man who loved his beautiful family. Sending you all love,” one supportive friend wrote.

Lena Waithe replied, “Sending you so much love.”

Since her step-father’s passing, SJP has posted a few times on Instagram.

On March 22, the TV giant and streaming service announced the exciting news.
