Selena Gomez ‘My Mind & Me’
The actress has spent the last few years being honest about her mental health and the way Hollywood has triggered her. Her documentary is an extended version of what she has shared with her fans on social platforms and through interviews but more in-depth.
“I’m grateful to be alive,” says the singer in the emotional trailer. She posted the trailer on her IG and captioned it; “Every breath, a breakthrough. In honor of #WorldMentalHealthDay I wanted to share the trailer for my documentary Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me. November 4 on @AppleTVPlus."
The Only Murders In The Building star “just be who you are Selena, no one cares what you’re doing, it's about who I am,” she pep talks herself in the trailer.
Selena Gomez ’s Emotional Journey Is Revealed
Gomez gets extremely candid in the doc trailer sharing a sentiment that many people her age are concerned about “being okay with where I am” and not comparing herself any longer to her peers.
The actress shares her diagnosis of depression, anxiety, lupus, and a mental breakdown, she explores how it made her a different person. She promised herself “I am going to stop living like this," she says. Gomez explores thoughts like “how do I learn to breathe my own breath again?"
Some of Gomez’s friends and family also appear in the doc and reveal how dire the situation is. “If anyone saw what I saw, they wouldn’t have recognized her,” shares a friend.
Selena Gomez Explores Her Trauma
The trailer shows Gomez reflecting on work and how she was forced into a career that she may not have chosen for herself later in life. “Like my whole life since I was a kid I’ve been working and I don’t want to be like super famous,” she admits but seeing as she is, “I have to use that for good”.
Shockingly enough Gomez shares a meal with her friends in the trailer and over dinner admits that she has never felt good enough. This is something deep-rooted that she is working on and the doc is a way for her to share with her fans.
Selena Gomez Takes Her Journey On The Road
The “Can’t Keep My Hands To Myself” singer’s doc will also feature her journeying to different places to speak about mental health and empathy with professionals in different parts of the US. She visits old school friends and underdeveloped communities on her journey.
Gomez also sings a small bit of her song My Mind & Me “we don’t always get along and it gets hard to breathe but I wouldn’t change my life,” she sings. The entertainer’s doc looks emotional and heartfelt.
