Madonna's Questionable 'Coming Out' Video Garners Backlash!

Madonna may have or may not have come out as gay over the weekend.

Here’s what went down and what everyone is talking about!

On Sunday, October 10, the iconic singer shared a video to TikTok.

In it, the nearly unrecognizable Madonna, sported neon pink hair, bleached eyebrows, a white, lacy bustier top, and white sweat pants.

She’s holding a pair of neon pink underwear and throws them at a trashcan.

Madonna wrote on the video, “If I miss, I’m Gay!”

Following a very lackluster attempt to shoot the undies in the trashcan, she misses and shrugs.

Many fans were shocked and supportive of what is seemingly Madonna coming out at the age of 64; however, there were many who didn’t appreciate the “queer baiting” of it all.

Queer baiting is defined as, “the practice of implying non-heterosexual relationships or attraction to engage or attract an LGBTQ audience or otherwise generate interest without ever actually depicting such relationships or sexual interactions,” according to Dictionary.com.

People questioning Madonna’s “coming out” video took to Twitter.

“Madonna, we get it. Being gay is the one thing that makes sense about all the distracting issues of your career. Still coming out as gay after your career is over and you made your mint is not a statement,” one person wrote.

Another commented, “Madonna queer baiting for relevance in 2022 is not something I expected.”

“Madonna coming out as ‘gay’.. publicity stunt? Did she mean to say that she is Bi-sexual? Or is saying ‘gay’ the new way for straight women to say that they sleep with men?” yet another person questioned.

Others not shocked by the big reveal wrote, “girl we been knew,” “we knew” and “none of you saw the Britney Madonna video & thought she was anyway?”

In 2003, Madonna and Britney Spears along with Christina Aguilera shared a steamy make out session at the MTV VMAs and completely shocked the world.

On the other side of the comments section were many excited and supportive fans.

“Seeing the fuss over Madonnna coming out makes me hope that one day sexual orientation (and gender identification, for that matter) doesn’t need to be declared and is just accepted, whatever it is. Let’s move on, people,” someone replied.

Madge is a well-known ally of the LGBTQ+ community and has been seen a number of times getting frisky with women.

Such was the case for her 64th birthday on August 16, when the “La Isla Bonita” singer was seen enjoying a raunchy moment with two young women.

As The Blast reported, Madonna documented her lavish celebration in Sicily, Italy, in a social media post, and she was seen passionately frenching two women.

The award-winning songstress was spotted being flanked by two gorgeous women at the back of a party limousine before she then engaged in a steamy French Kiss with both women, using her tongue and throwing all caution to the wind. She captioned the sensual video, “I left my baby mama at home, and I’m sitting here with my side bitches. We riding tonight, yeah!”
