Amelia Hamlin Completely Removes Her Eyebrows In DRASTIC Fashion Makeover

Runway model Amelia Hamlin recently did the big chop; however, this time, the razor was aimed at her previously bleached full eyebrows. A few months ago, the 21-year-old joined several celebrities in a recent trend where they bleached their eyebrows blonde.

In preparation for a photoshoot, Hamlin shaved off her entire eyebrows. The model seemed ecstatic by the results and revealed that she had, on a number of occasions, considered shaving it.

She went on to post her browless look on her social media shortly before preparations for the photoshoot commenced. Hamlin received both supportive and negative comments on the post, much like the previous response to her bleached eyebrows months ago.

In a new TikTok clip posted by Interview Magazine, Hamlin was shown shaving her eyebrows in preparation for an as-yet unrevealed photo shoot. The video was a minute long, and the news outlet posted it on its official page on October 7.

After one brow was shaved clean, the model said, "Woah, OK. That was a big one," while smiling at the camera. She added, "I felt them go. "Hamlin went on to reveal that she had thought about shaving her brows off for quite some time and finally got a chance due to the Interview photoshoot.

The 21-year-old seemed pleased with the result despite not seeing it yet and revealed that she loved it after touching the cleanly shaved brow for the first time. She said, "It's f--king sick."

Hamlin gave a sneak peek at her new look on her Instagram story (per E!News). She posted the behind-the-scenes moment before the actual makeover and captioned the story, "Only 4 u @melzy917 & fashion of course."

In the post, the 21-year-old tagged Mel Ottenberg, the Editor-In-Chief of Interview magazine. Ottenberg was the brains behind Kim Kardashian's recent photo shoot where she bared her cheeks in a barely there jockstrap. Her outfit also included bleached brows and hair.

Hamlin received a number of supportive comments from her followers; however, a number of others seemed to prefer Hamlin with her brows. A follower asked that she "get the brows back." Another wrote, "Giving alien vibes." A supportive fan commented, "Stop making me want to shave my eyebrows."

Prior to her big chop, Hamlin previously bleached her brows and debuted the look during the New York Fashion Week. She was also a part of the Paris Fashion Week, where she walked the runway for Balenciaga. In addition to her lightly colored brows, the 21-year-old had on multiple faux face piercings as well as a bald cap during Kanye West's Yeezy fashion show.

A number of other celebrities apparently loved the look and soon followed suit. While Hamlin received several complementary comments, the 21-year-old faced some backlash concerning the change.

In response to the negative statements, Hamlin took to her Instagram stories to encourage people who were offended by the bleached brows to unfollow her. "Every single person that slides into my DMs telling me they hate my eyebrows and that [you want to] unfollow me [because] of them," she said (via Bravo TV). Thank god they're my eyebrows and not [yours, and please] unfollow me if you don't get it."

Hamlin's shaved brows seemed to start something in the celebrity world, and a number of famous people were seen with barely-there eyebrows not long after. The 21-year-old previously collaborated with Julia Fox in a sexy photoshoot while the duo sported similarly bleached brows.

Kylie Jenner was also seen with bleached eyebrows at Paris Fashion Week. Kardashian, Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid, Paris Hilton, and Nicola Peltz were all previously spotted in light-brow fashion.

Alexx Mayo, a known makeup artist who was in charge of bleaching Lizzo's eyebrows, spoke on the eyebrow phenomenon in 2021 with Page Six Style. "In beauty, I think we are getting to a point of self-expression and blurring the lines of the standards of beauty," he explained. "It's a bold statement … When you soften such a dominant feature on the face, it really opens a new perspective."
