Coronavirus has hit an all time low when it comes to Twitter finding reasons to cancel anyone. Believe it or not, the internets boyfriend, Mr. Timothee Chalamet has been canceled by a select few over the most bizarre of things. Apparently an audio clip resurfaced of the actor reading a script, and inadvertently saying some type of homophobic slur that was included in it. Now, come on this is what the man gets paid for. Are we going to have this same energy for actors like Michael Fassbender who said the N word eight million times during the film “12 years a slave”.

Maybe there's a part of the population that doesn't understand what the art of acting consists of. When taking on a role it is an actor's job to inhibit that persona wholeheartedly. In fact there are some famous actors who practice the “method” mode of taking on characters, and it makes for stunning results. The only bad thing about doing this time and again, is that the body doesn't understand what “pretending” is. Separation between who you are, and who you are feigning to be, is a lot more mindful and healthy for people in this taxing profession. Aside from the perceived glamour and beauty associated with the entertainment industry, being on set is more akin to attending class. When one finds themselves as a core vessel of a film, there is this need to accumulate a grand amount of knowledge. Especially if this is an autobiographical tale a director is trying to shoot, or a historically important piece that can't be done wrong.

So, through breaking that down, hopefully Timothee Chalamet stans now can conceive why he said a slur, or something offensive. To be honest the idea that this was even a thing in the first place is baffling. Why would anyone discount Chalamet’s character as a person when it comes to him just performing his actual profession. That's like getting angry at someone who works at an office as an accountant for correctly checking the accuracy of particular estimates, it's absurd.

After seeing this go down on Twitter it points to the fact that people aren't okay with someone being far from problematic. His career so far has been one of positivity and steady growth. From the gate he debuted in front of the world on a high. With a mixture of luck and natural bred talent, Chalamet has really made strong choices in terms of his work. Like a young Leonardo Dicaprio he has been attracted to projects that make him feel, and with that skill to weed out the duds of movies, maybe Timothee is on his way towards a Leo type of legacy.
