2020 has been quite the year…and we’re only three months in.
Last year, we saw shocking splits between some of our favorite couples; Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus, Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter, and Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott. Oh, and let’s not forget the whirlwind romance (and break-up) between Kaitlynn Carter and Miley Cyrus.
And although breakups are never easy, they’re even harder when we love the couple!
From Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler to Lana Del Rey and Sean Larkin, here are all the celebrity couples who’ve recently called it quits:
Makeup artist Jeffree Star recently split from his long-term boyfriend, Nathan Schwandt. The couple broke up after about five years together. Right before their relationship ended, the pair purchased a new house.
Their breakup shocked everyone, and things became even more dramatic after Nathan deleted his social media. But apparently, their split was amicable. The two went their separate ways so they could focus on themselves.
“We were both so busy being there for each other that we forgot to be here for ourselves, and that’s what 2020 is — focusing on ourselves,” Jeffree revealed on YouTube.
Kaia Gerber and Pete Davidson didn’t date for long, but that didn’t stop their relationship from becoming public.
Davidson, 26, dated several women before his relationship with the teenager began in October 2019. The pair were photographed a lot throughout their fling. In November, pictures surfaced of the couple making out in Miami.
But as quickly as their relationship started, it ended even quicker.
The couple reportedly broke it off at the end of the year so Pete could focus on his mental health. The good news is there’s “no bad blood between the two.”
Name a more shocking relationship…we’ll wait.
Vanessa and Austin started dating in 2011 and called it quits earlier this year.
According to an insider, “Vanessa and Austin are officially broken up, and Vanessa has been telling those close to her about their breakup.”
Their split comes after years of what looked like a happy relationship. In November 2018, during an interview with Women’s Health, Hudgens opened up about her relationship with Butler.
“We both respect, trust and admire each other,” Hudgens said. “It’s so solid now because I feel strong as an independent woman. I am very self-reliant, but it’s nice to have a best friend you can share victories with as well as losses.”
Lana Del Rey and Sean Larkin dated for about six months before they called it quits. Larkin, who stars in Live PD, told The New York Times, “We still talk and whatnot, we just have busy schedules right now.”
Sean is also a real-life police officer in Oklahoma. During their relationship, the couple split their time between Oklahoma and Los Angeles.
The pair lived a fairly normal life, considering their celebrity status. Sean even posted cute photos of the two on his social media.
