Could you imagine if a girl that you basically randomly dated went on to become part of the Royal Family? When this happened then you where getting offered a ton of money to talk about that fling that you guys had. Well, that is pretty much what happened to Simon Rex.
He is the actor that you probably remember from his roles in the Scary Movie franchise. He is also in Kesha’s Titok video and LMFAO’s Sexy and I Know it! We can say, Simon has been in a literal pieces of pop culture history.
If you were not fully aware of Meghan Markle‘s career before “Suits” you are not alone most producers in Hollywood didn’t give her much of a chance either. This saw Meghan taking small roles on TV series for one episode. This is something that she did on multiple occasions.
On one of those occasions, she coincided with Simon Rex. This situation seemingly happened on the set of the Show “Cuts”. This was a short-lived TV show about a group of people who owned a barber shop.
According to Simon Rex, the two met while working on a TV show. He actually did not mention exactly which, show it was. Basically, they went and grabbed lunch after filming. Which, essentially is a pretty common thing that actors will do. Especially, if they are not yet A-listers or anything like that.
For Simon Rex, this appearance on the show actually came after being on Scary Movie. Which goes to show how tough it really is to make it big in the industry. In any case, they just went to lunch!
In an interview that he gave to the Hollywood Raw Podcast at the beginning of the week, Rex mentioned that he was offered a pretty decent sum of cash to lie about his relationship with Markle.
In the same interview, he described the encounter as something really bland. They literally just went and had lunch. Yet, this tabloid was willing to offer him 70k to say that he had a fling with Markle. As a struggling actor, that type of money would have certainly helped out!
Rex was very honest about the main reason why he turned the money down. He mentioned, “I said no to a lot of money because I didn’t feel right lying and f–king up the royal f–king family. I didn’t want to be whacked in the alley of London because I f–king lied.”
He did not see the reason why it would even make sense for him to lie. A nice sum of cash for beef with the Royal Family. What would you have decided to do?
