The man who broke into the home of XXXTentacion’s mother is facing years behind bars for alleged stalking.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the Florida Assistant State Attorney has filed 5 criminal charges against Donavon Marlon Banton.
Banton is charged with burglary (damage to structure/dwelling), burglary, criminal mischief, possession of burglary tools and stalking of XXXTentacion’s mother, Cleopatra Bernard.
The court recently ordered Banton to undergo a mental examination to determine whether he is competent to stand trial.

As The Blast previously reported, Banton is accused of stalking Bernard over the course of months. According to a police report, Banton traveled from New York to Florida multiple times trying to make contact with Bernard.
During questioning, he told police the late rapper was contacting him through Bernard and sending him “sadistic messages.” He claimed Bernard, “has been playing sadistic games with him instructing him to comer to her house” and the only way to make it stop was make contact with her.

On his last attempted visit, Banton showed up to Bernard’s Florida home and tried to get her to open the door. He made his way to the backyard and threw a brick through a back window. He retrieved the brick and proceeded to smash the window of Bernard’s Range Rover. Bernard called police who arrived and arrested Banton at the scene. They found him with a small ax, pry bar and two pairs of gloves.
Last month, Banton entered a not guilty plea to all charges. A judge granted Bernard a criminal protective order against Banton, who has been sitting in jail since his arrest on January 24, 2020
Bernard is having quite a couple of months dealing with separate legal battles. She recently settled a custody dispute with XXXTentacion’s baby mama, Jenesis Sanchez.
