Miley Cyrus stripped down to a swimsuit on Wednesday night – no apparent reason (nor any pool visible), but fans of the 27-year-old singer likely weren't complaining as they landed on her Instagram stories.

Miley has mostly been covering up this week. The "Mother's Daughter" singer opted out of flaunting her gym-honed body as she put the novel coronavirus first – Miley has now teamed up with superstar singer Demi Lovato for their "BrightMinded" Instagram series as the two attempt to "bring light to a dark time."

COVID-19 may be on everyone's minds, but a little swimsuit action from Miley generally proves well-received.

Miley's overnight stories mostly showed promo content for "BrightMinded," with the brief swimsuit selfie joining it as the blonde took to text: Miley was "so excited" for tomorrow's episode with Jeremy Scott, also letting fans know that she was rocking a Moschino swimsuit. The skin-tight white one-piece bearing the Italian designer's name and red-and-blue colors currently retails for $213 dollars over on the Moschino website.

Miley posed with her slim thighs and toned arms on show, her blonde hair scraped into a bun, and a simple cocked head.

Miley announced her new series yesterday via an Instagram post showing her holding a coffee cup with the colorful logo on it – the singer joked "Are you even a talk show host if you don't have your own mug?"

A caption from the star added more.

"#BrightMinded #LiveWithMiley gets a little more official each day! What’s a talk show without a custom mug thooooooo?!?!?! Working on creating some for purchase and the profit will go towards supporting the foundations discussed on today’s episode! Stay tuned! ( also working on the WiFi, borrowed my moms booster )"

Over 1.8 million views have been clocked for the announcement.

Coronavirus, now confirmed in all 50 U.S. states, has seen unprecedented levels of panic buying as millions flock to grocery stores for supplies. Chains including Walmart and Publix have trimmed their opening hours – even online retail giant Amazon has announced a block on stocking its warehouses with anything but "essential" products.

Miley made headlines recently for pleading with the public to stop panic buying: "Be thoughtful. Respectful. Compassionate. HUMAN. while preparing for social distancing.... NO ONE needs every soup in the store, The more we hoard the more expensive and sparse necessities will become, leaving many without essentials," she wrote.

Alongside getting people to cut down on the cart-stocking, Miley has been encouraging her fans to self-distance as the virus continues to spread – global stats now place confirmed cases at over 236,000, with the death toll sitting at over 9,800.

Miley encouraged self-distancing via a series of throwback videos to her "Hannah Montana" days. These mostly showed coincidentally appropriate situations as the former TV star was cleaning her bathroom and wearing a face mask – the messages from Miley have, however, been serious.

If you're being the "young millennnial -asshole" so dubbed by actress Hilary Duff (for going out and partying), consider the lives of others – now is the time to self-distance.
