Gabrielle Union is all about celebrating family milestones, and she is all out for her stepdaughter this time!
Since Zaya Wade's coming out as transgender in 2020, the 15-year-old's parents, Gabrielle and Dwyane Wade have been her biggest supporters. Now that the youngster is breaking ground in the fashion industry, it is not surprising that the "Bring It On" actress is there to celebrate every bit of it.
Gabrielle Union Gets Excited For Step Daughter Zaya Wade's Fashion Debut
The actress is pretty excited over what seems to be a significant fashion moment in her step-daughter's life. She took to her Instagram story to gush over Zaya's style at the "MiuMiuSS23" runway show for Paris Fashion Week. The "Bad Boys" star captioned the picture "Leaving no Crumbs," referring to the outfit the 15-year-old wore.
The whole outfit, posted to Zaya's Instagram page, showed the rising star facing the camera with her hands by her side decked from head to toe in "MiuMiu." Zaya wore a cropped jean top and a short plaid pleated skirt. She finished the look with white loafers and a tote bag while keeping her hair in a short, parted bob and natural-looking makeup.
The following slide showed her in the same outfit with her hands held up daintily in front of her as she gave another the look an edgier feel with the addition of dark shades. She captioned the post by thanking the famous fashion brand for inviting her to the beautiful event.

Fans know that the teenager has strengthened her image as a budding fashionista over the past year through fire posts on her social media. She has taken it up a notch as she was spotted solo for the first time ever, per Wmagazine.
For the spring 2023 show, she brought it with some high-end fashion looks, including some ultra-cropped pieces for her top and bottom. Zaya was styled by the famous Thomas Christos Kikis, who let a peek of her branded flesh-toned underwear show above the brown belt holding her mini skirt at the waist.
At the event, she let the final part of her fantastic look show, which was the makeup done on her face. The unique look was done by artist Esther Edeme and featured a crystal-jeweled cat eye paired with glossy lips and pink cheeks, which gave her a glow perfect for her age.
Attending the show solo would not be complete without a picture moment with a friend. The friend turned out to be "King Richard" actress Demi Singleton who met up with Wade and took a picture together while waiting for the show to begin. The actress wore a silver embellished crop top and mini skirt with a gray trench jacket on top to the presentation.
Zaya Wade Opts To Protect Her Mental Health By Limiting Comments Online
In this age of social media, where everyone posts their activities, it is expected to find a troll or two under one's comment. However, this might not be the same for people in the public eye, as they present easy targets to trolls who drop distasteful comments under their posts, sometimes for no good reason.
This is probably why followers have not been able to drop comments under the teens' Instagram posts. According to Buzzfeed, the real force behind the restriction happens to be her father, Dwayne.
The protective dad decided that in order to protect his daughter, especially since she came out as Transgender, the best thing to do would be to limit comments to her posts to discourage those with nothing nice to say.
The former pro athlete mentioned that it was a joint decision between him and his wife Gabrielle and addressed it on Twitter when a user asked about it. Dwayne's response read, "For Zaya's mental health and privacy, we've decided not to allow the hate into her comments," thanking the fan for wanting to spread and send her love instead.
The father-of-four told Time that social media had been complex and also because the years around junior high could be brutal and critical. Adding, "But for many LGBTQ+ kids, it's their only lifeline to their community. We're trying to figure out that balance of not taking away her community but also protecting her from being inundated with negativity and ignorance."
