The first seasons of Jersey Shore seem like a lifetime ago; not just for viewers but for the cast as well. However, while the rest of the cast took part in a reboot, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, Sammi 'Sweetheart' Giancola was nowhere to be found.
The former reality t.v. star claimed she wanted to “avoid potentially toxic situations," and we all know she's referring to her former boyfriend Ronnie Ortiz-Magro.
The former couple had an incredibly volatile and dramatic relationship, which played out on camera throughout multiple seasons of the show.
When the reboot came out, Sammi made a statement on Instagram, writing, “I have chosen not to join the show this season because I am at a completely different place in my life right now focusing on my businesses and relationship. I am not the same person as I was when I was 22. At 31, I am currently extremely happy in every aspect of my life and want to avoid potentially toxic situations."
Despite not appearing on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, Sammi has stayed in touch with her old roommates.
Sammi is currently engaged to Christian Biscardi, and the couple keep their relatinship fairly private.
She told Intouch Weekly,“It’s kind of exciting. He’s no one in the business, it’s just somebody. I’m learning to keep my relationship stuff a little more private — so that’s all I’m gonna say about it."
The big question on the minds of most of her fans is whether or not Sammi will be inviting her former Jersey Shore roommates to her wedding, considering she does stay in touch with some of them.
Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino and his wife Lauren appeared on The Morning Toast and claimed they had yet to receive an invite or a save the date to Sammi's wedding.
With the drama that went down at Angelina Pivarnick's wedding, Sammi might be better off leaving her former Jersey Shore castmates off the guest list.
At Angelina's wedding, Snooki, Deena, and Jenni, who were her bridesmaids, all proceeded to make a speech that did not go down well with other guests at the wedding or with Angelina herself.
Angelina told Us Weekly she is ready to move on from the drama, saying, “I live day by day, so I’m going to try to forget about the past. My thing is, I forgive too many people too quickly. I’m going to stop doing that, so for 2020, that’s also a new thing."
She continued "I’m going to keep my circle way smaller, you know? I think right now, all I need is my husband and my family and his family. I like hanging out with my friends but there’s a lot that, you know, it’s hard. It’s hard.”
We'll just have to wait and see if the roommates have a reunion at Sammi's wedding. Maybe they'll fist pump on the dance floor?
