Singer Taylor Swift has been pretty busy over the last few years.

After releasing sister albums Folklore and Evermore in 2020, the "Shake It Off" singer went on to re-release two of her previous albums, Fearless (Taylor's Version), and Red (Taylor's Version). She also wrote, directed, and starred in her "All Too Well: The Short Film," which was based on the ten-minute version of the song, "All Too Well," which appeared on Red (Taylor's Version) in November 2021.

Although she has released several singles for 1989 (Taylor's Version), that album has yet to drop. Instead, while accepting her award at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards in August, the "Betty" singer revealed that she would be releasing her tenth studio album, Midnights, on October 21.

Lover Fest Was Canceled In 2021 Due To The COVID-19 Pandemic

In February 2021, the "Enchanted" singer tweeted out an apology to her fans after she was forced to cancel Lover Fest. “This is an unprecedented pandemic that has changed everyone’s plans and no one knows what the touring landscape is going to look like in the near future,” she told her fans.

The last time that Taylor took the stage on a large stadium tour was in 2018, to promote her sixth studio album, "Reputation." Page Six reported that it was one of the highest-grossing tours of all time. In addition, one of her performances in Texas was filmed for a concert special that is currently available to stream on Netflix.

What To Know About Taylor Swift's 10th Studio Album 'Midnights'

Taylor has described her tenth studio album as “a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams.”

Earlier this year, a source had told The Sun that the "Gorgeous" singer had planned to "surprise fans with her most experimental album" to date and will give fans a "fresh take on her romance with actor Joe Alwyn" in this upcoming album.

The insider told the publication "Taylor is enjoying the process of tinkering with new sounds and is set to showcase a range of genres on her next album, which will surprise her fans," adding, “It’ll also be her most collaborative album yet and she is eager to work with up-and-coming female artists and producers."

They also said that the "Mirrorball" singer invited "some friends" to collaborate with her, but no names have been announced.

"She recently invited some friends to write with her and the songs they came up with reminded her team of Stevie Nicks and Joan Armatrading," the insider said, adding, "Her fans are used to hearing about her break-ups but her outlook on romance has changed since being with Joe and this will come through in the music."

Fans can look forward to seeing what Midnights has to offer when it is released on Friday, October 21.
