Demi Lovato may well feel that a lot of angels have her back. The "Sorry Not Sorry" singer has been opening up about her struggles with eating disorders and drug addiction – while it's in the past, the 27-year-old superstar remains known for the 2018 drug overdose that proved near-fatal.

"I Love Me" may be making waves as Demi's latest single, but it looks like there's someone else the singer loves. Demi recently interviewed 26-year-old Justin Bieber on "The Ellen Show." Here's what went down.

"Justin Bieber Week" was the theme on "Ellen" during the first week of March. The "Yummy" singer made multiple appearances on the series, with March 6 seeing the Canadian sit down with Lovato.

Demi mentioned Justin's supermodel wife Hailey Bieber. As Justin stated that he would be spending time with his wife while going on tour, Demi chimed in with the gushing, also mentioning manager Scooter Braun.

"I like to joke around with Scooter that she's my little guardian angel," she said.

Lovato continued:

"Anytime I’m having a bad night, she just appears and makes it better. She’s that type of girl. At the Met Gala, I had a horrible experience, and then, she waited at the top of the stairs with me for 45 minutes. It was just the sweetest thing."

Demi was likely referring to her 2016 Met Gala. The annual fashion event saw the singer post a now-deleted snap of herself with Bieber. Demi later stated how "rough" the night had been for her.

Demi then shifted to focus on her eating disorder troubles, stating that her sobriety team had instated somewhat of a surveillance on her.

"If I was in my hotel room at night, they would take the phone out of my room so that I couldn’t order room service,” she said.

“If there was fruit in my room they would take it out because that’s extra sugar. We’re not talking about brownies, cookies or candies – we are talking about fruit. For many years I didn’t even have a birthday cake, I had a watermelon cake where you cut your watermelon into the shape of the cake and then you put fat-free whipped cream on top and that was your cake," Demi added.

Demi's body-image struggles have been no joke. Speaking of turning 27, the star's words took on a more positive vibe.

"This year when I turned 27, you know I have a new team and Scooter Braun and my manager gave me the best birthday cake. I just remember crying became I was finally eating cake with a manager that didn’t need anything from me and that loved me for who I am and supported my journey," she added.

Demi has also debuted a tattoo this year – a fallen angel is uplifted by wings.
