Chanel West Coast is trying to keep coronavirus away just as much as you are. The 31-year-old rapper and “Ridiculousness” star has already made headlines as the MTV show she stars on films with empty audiences – COVID-19 might have shut down Broadway and half of Hollywood, but it isn’t stopping the Instragram updates.
Chanel took to the platform last night with a sexy bedroom shot. Given that the “Sharon Stoned” rapper was also influencing for Fashion Nova, the update likely netted the star some top-up income – you know, for the handwash.
Chanel’s photo showed her posing seductively and getting a little flirty as she pulled down the waistband of her silky purple pajamas. The brunette was standing in her bedroom and backed by the color she was wearing – West Coast was flaunting her fit and curvy body in a sexy, lace-embellished PJ camisole with a cute string tie, also flashing her flat stomach as the camera took in her matching shorts.
A caption from Chanel mentioned the novel virus that’s now been deemed a global pandemic by the World Health Organization.
“Lookin cute for nobody while staying home dodging corona ??♀️? PJ set @fashionnova #FashionovaPartner”
Coming from the girl who has complained she’s not received enough Instagram likes, this post definitely brought them in. Over 76,000 were clocked in the space of nine hours, with comments proving likewise quick to pour in.
“Love this!!!” one fan wrote.
“Marry me?!” was another comment.
“F—-ck this corona bullsh-t,” one user stated.
Chanel’s post followed a tweet about the virus.
“This corona virus is crazy. All jokes & memes aside, I truly hope everyone is staying safe out there. Wash your hands, carry hand sanitizer & disinfectant wipes around with you, don’t shake hands with people, etc. Lets take precautions so it doesn’t spread!??Red heart”
Chanel’s post wasn’t a full-blown ad, but it did see the rapper and reality star influencing in the standard Instagram way. Pay on the platform directly correlates with following, something that experts over at Vox have offered an opinion on.
“Influencers with up to 1 million followers can get $10,000 [per post], depending on the platform, and 1 million followers and up, you’re getting into territory where they can charge $100,000. Some can even get $250,000 for a post! Especially if the content is on Youtube and the influencer is in the gaming industry.”
Chanel has 3.4 million Instagram followers.
Coronavirus has now his the celebrity world. This week saw 63-year-old actor Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson confirm they’ve tested positive for COVID-19.
“Hello, folks. @ritawilson and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive,” Tom wrote, adding:
“Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?”
NBA stars Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert have also tested positive.
