Serena Williams is going into hiding amid the Coronavirus panic. The 38-year-old tennis star revealed on Instagram that she’s taking extra precautions by staying indoors the next month in a half hoping to avoid catching the disease that’s spreading like wildfire. Taking to her social media, Serena Williams informed her 12 million followers that she’s going into “solitude” and focusing on being there for her husband, Alexis Ohanian, and two-year-old daughter, Alexis Olympia, as the outbreak continues to rage across the country and overseas.
Posting a video showing someone from her glam team working on her during a recent shoot, Serena Williams captioned the clip by telling fans she’s “spending the next 6 weeks in solitude.” Revealing she’s going to focus on “being a wife” and “being a mom,” the tennis champion plans to fill her hours by “cooking,” “cleaning,” “Spring cleaning,” “face mask,” and doing “makeup tutorials.” While it sounds nice, Serena Williams admits it may be a little out of her comfort zone. “I’ll let you know how it goes,” she joked.
Signing off, Serena Williams warned her followers, “stay safe everyone. This is serious.” She also added the prayer hand emoji. The mom of one isn’t the only celebrity who’s taking extra precautions amid the Coronavirus spread. Orlando Bloom revealed he’s heading back to the United States to “self-quarantine” at home after production on his Amazon Prime show “Carnival Row” shut down due to Coronavirus concerns. The actor and his co-star Cara Delevingne had been filming season two in the Czech Republic. It was announced on Friday that beginning Monday, March 16 the country is closing its borders, and a total ban on traveling will be put in place.
Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson announced they have tested positive for Coronavirus and are currently in quarantine while in Australia. But they are making the best of it with Rita Wilson releasing an upbeat playlist while the famous couple sits in solitude. And if you think it’s just A-list celebrities making headlines for the way they are handling the Coronavirus, think again. Big businesses are hurting with companies like KFC pulling their “Finger Lickin Good” ads after receiving complaints following the outbreak.
