Kristen Doute opened up about the ongoing feud between former besties Jax Taylor and Tom Sandoval during an appearance on Heather McDonald’s podcast series, Juicy Scoop, last week.
According to a report from Reality Blurb on March 13, Doute started off by telling McDonald that she felt Taylor and Sandoval were “attention wh**es.”
Doute then went on to explain that when it comes to the Vanderpump Rules cast members’ antics on-screen, they seem to be fueled by their needs to be in the spotlight.
In addition calling out Taylor and Sandoval for feeling the need for attention when Vanderpump Rules cameras are rolling, Doute said Sandoval has made a habit of adding a “but” to all of his apologies.
“Sandoval and his ‘I’m sorry, but let me tell you why I did what I did because why I did what I did … I’m not really sorry.’ He’s just trying to shut the conversation down and then talk about how he feels again,” she explained to McDonald.
Months into Taylor and Sandoval’s drama, Doute believes the the two are struggling to move forward with a friendship because they both only care about how they are feeling and have trouble looking at things from other people’s perspectives.
“And that’s something that both Jax and Tom tend to do. So when you have two people who really only give a sh*t how they feel going against each other, it’s not gonna end well,” she explained.
Taylor and Sandoval’s feud began last year and currently, the two men aren’t speaking.
While Taylor suggested seasons ago that he had walked in on Doute hooking up with his now wife, Brittany Cartwright, Doute told McDonald that the hookup “100% never happened.”
Doute then suggested that Taylor simply wanted to create a stir and did so by making the shocking claim.
“I just think that with Jax — especially in the past — when the attention is not on Jax anymore he like, freaks out. He’s like, ‘look at me, look at me, look at me,’” Doute suspected.
According to Doute, there is more drama to come with Taylor that is prompted by him hunting for attention.
“That will happen later on this season. [He] and I got into it and we didn’t talk for a month after that because I was so mad at him,” she explained.
Doute then said Taylor struggled with the fact that the attention of the cast was no longer focused on him after he and Cartwright wed.
“Once you get married, people are going to start caring and thinking about other things. And the second that happened, Jax was like, ‘Wait, it’s not about me anymore?’ He started poking around and kind of being a d**k again,” Doute teased.
