Royal experts think Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are feeling more relaxed now that they are in Canada. People point to what seem like easy smiles and bouncy steps as proof that the Sussexes are thriving in their new lives as private citizens.
According to royal commentator Omid Scobie, the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton is also riding high after the Sussexes’ royal split. Scobie says Duchess Kate is in “confident form” now that she has stepped up her role in the palace.
Sources have claimed Harry and Meghan’s exit has been difficult for everyone involved. But most pointed to Duchess Kate as the one dealing with the brunt of the fallout.
According to reports, the public and media alike turned to the Duchess of Cambridge to pick up the slack after the Sussexes left. This reportedly left Kate feeling very anxious and she was said to have been suffering from bouts of both insomnia and anxiety as she learned to navigate her new role.
Sources also indicated that the duchess was dealing with a lot of emotional turmoil over losing one of her closest friends in the royal family. Kate and Harry had grown very close over the years and were considered to be very good friends to one another.
They said Duchess Kate was worried she would never see Prince Harry again. Similar reports indicated Prince William was also feeling the loss of his brother, but that the two had begun chatting more after the move.
Sources said Duchess Kate had grown to become an irreplaceable member of the royal family in the days after Harry and Meghan moved to Canada. Queen Elizabeth II reportedly leaned on Kate heavily to smooth things over.
Some say this was evidenced during the Sussexes’ recent return to the UK for the Commonwealth Day celebrations. When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were reportedly not included in the queen’s march, Kate and William decided to also sit out the procession.
Scobie says Duchess Kate is now in “confident form” after getting used to her new role as a more prominent member of the working royals. The royal commentator described this new side of Kate as the “Duchess of Cambridge 2.0.”
Prince William was not left out of Scobie’s glowing reviews. The commentator noted that William is showing a different side of himself, as well. Scobie used the duke’s recent experience with a paving truck as an example, commending William for getting his “hands dirty.”
