Camila Cabello Updates Fans On Shawn Mendes Relationship, But Are They Still Together?

Camilla Cabello has been dating Shawn Mendes since last summer, but just how well is their relationship holding up?

The two went public with their romance in July 2019, just weeks after Cabello had tweeted to her millions of fans how much she loved the Canadian singer for supporting her music.

Mendes was known to have been a huge fan of Cabello’s songs before they started seeing one another, having even credited her as one of the most talented songwriters he's had the pleasure of working with.

In April 2015, he even chose her as his “wife” in a game of Lips, Wife, or Leave It, which also included the likes of actress Chloe Grace Moretz and singer Jade Thirwall from British girl group Little Mix.

So it was only time before Shawn should shoot his shot - and fortunately for him, Camila felt a mutual attraction and the two started dating shortly after.

Once the duo confirmed their relationship, it seemed as if fans couldn’t get enough of Camila and Shawn, who had just released their hit song “Senorita."

Together, they performed the at all the major award shows, including the "Video Music Awards" and "American Music Awards," but due to their hectic schedules, they didn't have much time for one another.

They fell in love in the midst of working on their chart-topping song and heavily promoted the track nationwide, leaving them with no downtime to enjoy being in each other's company, aside from when they were on stage together.

During a recent interview at The Global Awards 2020 in London, Cabello revealed that dating can be difficult, particularly when she and Shawn often find themselves wanting more from each other, but they’re navigating through young love in the best way they can.

“I want more, we want more but honestly we’re being in our twenties,” Camila told Jimmy Hill at the event. "Just like being in love is exhausting, it takes it out of you. We can’t even go to the studio, we can’t, yeah. We’re trying to calm down!”

Hill, who appeared to have thought the singer was referring to something else when she ended her response, continued to add: "Too busy in other ways?”

“No, no. I meant emotionally! Dang it,” an embarrassed Camila quipped.

Camila also shared her thoughts on Shawn’s decision to grow out his facial hair, which he showed off when he surprised his girlfriend for her 23rd birthday party at one of the UK’s most iconic attractions - the Blackpool Tower - on March 4.

When asked if she had anything to do with Mendes’ decision to sport a new look, the former Fifth Harmony star assured the interviewer it was Shawn’s decision to grow out his facial hair, but she’s certainly feeling the scruff.

“I won’t say that that’s my influence, but I really like it,” Camila gushed. “I think he likes it but he’s never had it this long before, and I’m just like, ‘Don’t shave it. I like it.’”
