Marvel starSimu Liu is keeping it real!
Fans may recall that Liu updated the world via social media not long ago about prioritizing his mental health, which he believed would make him become "more than a superhero." However, it has come to light that amid the phase, he is also going through a breakup with his supposed ex-girlfriend and fellow actor, Jade Bender.
Simu Liu Deals With Breakup While Also Focusing On His Mental Health
During an interview at Dreamforce, a major tech conference in San Francisco organized by Salesforce, Liu surprisingly unburdened his heart about the split. Per SFGate's report, he was prompted to do so when Salesforce executive vice president Jody Kohner asked about his mental health at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater.
Kohner wondered how the movie star was following his mental health update on the gram about beginning therapy, so she asked, "How are you today?" He replied, "I'm OK, I'm OK," before pausing and adding, "I'm learning to prioritize myself; I'm becoming more comfortable with the idea of therapy and support systems."
Liu recently became aware of how burnt out he was as he went through moments of feeling like he was living his dream but did not really feel like he was where he needed to be with himself. He then confirmed the separation, leading the audience to express sympathy. He said:
"I'm also going through a breakup. That's probably also contributing to it, but that's OK; I'll be OK."

The Chinese-born actor was possibly speaking of his relationship with Bender, given that they were last publicly spotted together in the middle of August. In concluding his talk at Dreamforce, he expressed his opinions on balancing one's objective with self-care by stressing the importance of setting goals in a healthy way to allow one to take a moment for themselves.
Alongside Liu's presence at the event, other stars who made an appearance included Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Hudson, Laverne Cox, and Jane Goodall.
The Canadian performer's big reveal comes almost two weeks after his mental health post, where he penned a lengthy message on Instagram about the matter, adding a throwback picture of himself at the "Shang-Chi" world premiere.
Fellow stars, Awkwafina and Destin Daniel, whom he tagged, were also featured in the photo, beaming as they posed side by side at the carpet event. Liu's message began with an acknowledgment of the release of the Marvel hero movie precisely a year before, which changed his life and had been "nothing short of the absolute best ride."
The star mentioned that as someone who gained significant fame after, he was introduced to a life he had "no business" being in and was unprepared to deal with the mental consequences of living his life in public.
However, with time, he was able to reflect and see that while he was having the time of his life, he was "also neglecting to spend the necessary time to check in with myself and prioritize my mental health."

While shooting multiple films and writing his memoir, the 33-year-old stuntman barely had time to breathe and was obsessed with the idea of "representing his community" that he overworked himself. So, given the anniversary of "Shang-Chi's" release, he excitedly announced that he was in therapy, focusing on his health, and well on his way to becoming a "good and decent man."
The "We Were Dreamers" Author's Rejection From "Crazy Rich Asians" Boosted His Self-Confidence
Before becoming a Marvel star, Liu was interested in being featured in the 2018 hit movie "Crazy Rich Asians" but was unfortunately rejected after auditioning four times. He revealed so in a recent hat which The Blast reported, noting that at the time, he was an upcoming star in the TV program "Kim's Convenience."
In another interview on the "How To Fail With Elizabeth Day" podcast, the ACTRA Awards nominee shed more light on the experience revealing that he asked his agent to get an explanation for the rejection.
He did so because he initially felt he had "really positive feedback" but was later told that he did not have the "it factor" to be cast in the film. Liu was crushed and felt like he was not good enough but eventually realized that the rejection changed him, making him more self-confident in his abilities.
