Chris Pratt is promoting his new film Onward, so he's opening up about his personal life while on the press trail. When he's not gushing about his new wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, he's talking about fatherhood. His 7-year-old son with ex-wife Anna Faris, Jack, was born premature, and Pratt opened up to E!News about what a scary experience that was and how he considers Jack's survival "a miracle."
"He was born premature by 10 weeks. Anna, his mom, went into labor at 30 weeks and he had some issues. He was in intensive care for a month. He had very serious complications, and it was a lot of prayer and a lot of promises and negotiations with God to save my son."

Jack spent the first year of his life in intensive care, and Pratt previously told People that this period of time lead to a renewal of his Christian faith.
"We were scared for a long time. We prayed a lot. It restored my faith in God, not that it needed to be restored, but it really redefined it. The baby was so beautiful to us, and I look back at the photos of him and it must have been jarring for other people to come in and see him, but to us he was so beautiful and perfect."
Pratt also told People that "he [Jack] is such a fighter, he’s amazing. He’s so open and there’s no fear in him no matter what."
Ultimately, Pratt loves being a dad more than anything else. While addressing crowds at the March of Dimes Celebration of Babies in December 2014, Pratt said:
"I've done all kinds of cool things as an actor: I've jumped out of helicopters and done some daring stunts and played baseball in a professional stadium, but none of it means anything compared to being somebody's daddy."
Are more kids in Pratt's future? He recently praised his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger for her abilities as a stepmother to Jack and how he hopes that they will expand their family soon enough.
"She has changed my life for the better in so many ways. My heart and my soul [and] my son I feel are all so safe with her, you know? She's a great stepmom. She's, god-willing, gonna be a great mom one day. She's got great parents, great siblings. She fills in all my many deficits."
