Ever since the reports regarding Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen's marital status began, some even suggesting the two are currently living separately, many are concerned for the family.
Although the rumors suggested Brady's decision to unretire and return to the NFL is the reason to blame, a new source, close to the Tampa Bay Bucs quarterback and the Brazilian fashion model, says that is not the case and those claims are "sexist."
Source Says The NFL Isn't The Reason For Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen's Marital Issues
Tom Brady made headlines a few weeks before the NFL season officially kicked off when he took an unexpected 11-day break from training camp in August due to “personal reasons”, according to Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles. Reports then began speculating that he and his wife of 13 years, Gisele Bündchen, were having marital problems and were taking some time apart. Some blamed Brady’s decision to come out of retirement and return to the NFL as the main issue.
After Brady returned to training camp from his 11-day absence, he released a statement saying, “Everyone has different situations they’re dealing with, and we all have unique challenges to our lives. I’m 45 years old, man.”
A new source close to the couple is now speaking out, saying Brady's decision to come out of retirement is not to blame for the marital issues the two are facing and those rumors are completely false.
“The problems are not due to his decision to play football again — sometimes things are complicated,” the source told Page Six.
The source did not go into much more detail, aside from saying the speculation is “sexist” and it wrongly blames the model for their current issues.
Other Sources Suggest The NFL Is Still To Blame
A source did come forward a few weeks ago and made it clear that Brady needs to seriously consider retirement at the end of this year in order for his marriage to work.
“She doesn’t hate that he’s playing football, but she sure hates the way he handled the retirement and coming back,” the source said. “He knows that, and he’s doing what he can do to smooth things over. He does know that this is his last season if he wants to stay married. He can’t do this again.”
“So now all he can do is make this season count, spend time with his family whenever he can, and then retire at the end of the season,” the source added.
Gisele Bündchen Did Not Attend Tom Brady's First Home Game
Tom Brady was hopeful that his wife of 13 years would attend his first home game in Tampa Bay, however, that was not the case.
Brady's children were spotted at the game, even visiting the quarterback pre-game on the sidelines. Bündchen was not in attendance.
It is unclear if the two are living together or separately at this time.
Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to face off against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs during Sunday Night Football.
