There are two realities of dating that we think most people would agree on: 1) Blind dates are difficult to do and they often go terribly wrong. 2) Dating as a celebrity is almost always a public affair. With that in mind, a celebrity going on a blind date could be disastrous, and everyone is going to hear about it.
Jennifer Aniston has had one of those experiences, and we’re here to tell you about it. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy.
Let’s be frank, most people love Jennifer Aniston. Whether you were a Friends-aholic or became a fan of her later works (Horrible Bosses comes to mind), she’s made you laugh and maybe made you drool.
After making a name for herself in 90s, Aniston went on to star in a slew of comedy movies, including Bruce Almighty and The Break-Up. During that time period, her love life became public as she corted, married, then split up with Brad Pitt.
In the modern area (recently), Aniston joined social media and set a Guinness World Record for reaching 1 million followers in five hours and sixteen minutes. Talk about love.
This date isn’t recent, but it is funny. Back before Aniston was involved with Pitt, she went on a date with Jon Stewart. This was about 20 years ago, so memories might be fuzzy with time. But, according to Stewart, the pair was to go on a romantic dinner date in New York.
Or so he thought. But when Aniston showed up for their big romantic night, she wasn’t alone. Aniston didn’t even know it was a date. Due to some miscommunication, she thought it was a group hangout and she brought a bunch of her friends. Chalk that one up to an unfortunate mistake!
Jon Stewart, if you don’t know, hosted The Daily Show from 1995 to 2015. He’s a lifelong comedian, a writer, a producer, and a director. Which is pretty impressive but not impressive enough to get Aniston alone.
Since leaving The Daily Show, activism has been a primary focus for Stewart. Though the actor is about to get behind the camera once again for the film Irresistible, starring Steve Carell… Aniston’s co-star in The Morning Show. It’s produced by Brad Pitt… Aniston’s ex-husband. What an odd turn of events.
With the paparazzi always on your tail, we don’t know why any celebrity would want to fall into a bad blind date but it’s probably more common than you think. For example, a blind date is the reason Carrie Underwood met her husband.
Jon Steward ended up meeting his wife, Tracey McShane, on a blind date. That’s also how Justin Timberlake met Jessica Biel, who he is now married to.
If the trend in blind dates keeps moving forward in Hollywood, there’ll be plenty more hilarious stories to tell.
