We all know that the married Duggar daughters choose to live by their own rules instead of the rules instilled in them by their parents. These ‘rules’ that the daughters are expected to live by vary from not dying their hair to not wearing shorts. Newsflash, Jill has been breaking the ‘rules’ for YEARS.
In a 2019 post on Instagram, Jill is pictured wearing SHORTS. Yes. She is wearing shorts instead of a long skirt. Just like other Duggar drama, a picture where Jill was wearing shorts sparked another thread on Reddit.
One commenter on the Reddit thread said, ‘She’s been wearing shorts in spring/ summer. This seems to suggest that Jill wearing shorts is old news. Someone else said that Jill has been wearing shorts for ‘almost two years.’
Someone else said, ‘We are rooting for you Jill!! You aren’t alone. Many of us have been down the road you are traveling. You are so strong to be breaking free.’ This commenter seems to be hinting at the control of Jill’s parents and the strictness of her upbringing.
Another commenter said, ‘Who would have ever guessed that goody-two-shoes parents favorite child would be the one to really break free.’
If Jill has, in fact, been wearing shorts for a few years now, one may wonder if her marriage to Derick has anything at all to do with her decision to change her fashion choices.
Apparently, not all of the adult Duggar daughters agree with Jill’s fashion choices. However, Jill’s sister, Jinger, has also been known for her fashion choices recently. She has posted pictures on Instagram showing her choice to go against the style she grew up wearing.
In August 2019, Jana Duggar chose to post a photo on Instagram of her in front of a ferris wheel at what looks like a carnival or fair. This seems innocent enough. It’s not though. The issue with the photo, fans say, is the fact that Jana photoshopped skirts on the two girls in the background of her photo before posting it to Instagram.
One fan commented on the photo with, ‘Did she apologize to the girls? I really hope so. I always thought she was so above this sort of thing.’
Another commenter said, ‘Wow thats pathetic. Let people wear what they want you wierdo.’
Someone else said, ‘You do you Jana. Your smart and beautiful. Ignore all the negative people! Make memories even if its by yourself! No boyfriend needed.’ Maybe this person didn’t notice the photoshopping. Maybe they did. Regardless, the comment supports Jana.
If Jana would photoshop different clothing onto two strangers in the background of photo, it may make one wonder how she feels about Jill and Jinger’s fashion choices.
