Actor Mark Hamill has good reason to celebrate this Sunday, given that it's his 72nd birthday!

The actor best known for portraying Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise, starting with 1977's "A New Hope," was born on September 25, 1951, in Oakland, California, meaning that he turned 72 on Sunday!

Both Star Wars fans, costars, and famous friends all took to social media to wish him a happy birthday!

Famous Friends Wish Mark Hamill A Happy 72nd Birthday!

"Midnight Mass" creator Mike Flanagan, who worked with Mark Hamill in the upcoming Netflix horror series, "The Fall of the House of Usher," tweeted, "Happy birthday Mark!!!! Much love from the whole Flanagan fam, we hope you have a phenomenal day."

Star Wars alum Sam Witwer also wished Mark a happy birthday, tweeting, "Happy birthday to Mister @MarkHamill ... National treasure."

Witwer first provided his voice and likeness for Starkiller in the “Star Wars: The Force Unleashed” video game series. He later went on to voice Darth Maul in the animated series “The Clone Wars” and “Rebels” as well as 2018’s “Solo: A Star Wars Story.” He also voiced the Son in “The Clone Wars” and Emperor Palpatine in “Rebels.”

Actor Josh Gad, who may be best known for voicing Olaf in the "Frozen" animated Disney series, shared a selfie of him and Mark Hamill, tweeting, "Happy birthday to the greatest of greats: Mr. @MarkHamill."

The Peter Mayhew Foundation, created by the family of late actor Peter Mayhew, also wished Mark a happy birthday, tweeting a photo of the late Chewbacca actor alongside Mark and Harrison Ford. Peter played Chewbacca from 1977 all the way up to 2015’s “The Force Awakens,” when he retired from the role. He sadly passed away in Texas in April 2019.

"Today is @MarkHamill’s birthday," they tweeted. "Did you know that when Peter passed away, Mark stepped up to sign the “Signature Series” Chewbacca busts from @RegalRobot in Peter’s place as they benefitted the Mayhew Foundation? Mark is the real deal and we wish him the happiest of birthdays!"

They added, "You can read about the notes that Mark signed for everyone that supported this memorial bust over on the @RegalRobot blog."

Even "The Princess Bride" actor Cary Elwes wished Mark a happy birthday, tweeting, "Happy Birthday, Mark, from one 'Princess rescuing Farmboy' to another! ???."

The Star Wars Twitter account tweeted, "We followed his journey from moisture farmer to Jedi, happy birthday to Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill!"

Another fan attached a GIF of Luke Skywalker, adding, "Happy birthday, @MarkHamill ? Wishing you health, happiness and many dream-come-true moments ? Thank you for bringing Luke to life and imprinting him in my heart for good ? May the Force be with you, always ?."

A Star Wars fan account also shared many photos of Luke Skywalker over the years, tweeting, "Happy birthday to one and only Mark Hamill (@MarkHamill)! May the Force be with you!"

Even "West Side Story" actress Rachel Zegler proved that she is a fan of Luke Skywalker, tweeting, "mark hamill has had my back since day one of being in this industry and i will adore him always and forever— from childhood hero to my real-life jedi master, happy birthday to the realest of real @MarkHamill ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️."
